This homeowner had a lovely sitting area outside their home on a concrete patio. Over the years, some of the concrete had settled into the soils around it, and a trip hazard had formed. This was both unsightly and a nuisance, something they wanted to find a permanent fix for.

Our team installed PolyLevel to lift, level, and stabilize the concrete patio for the homeowner. Not only were the trip hazards eliminated, but the joints and cracks were also sealed with NexusPro. This silicone sealant added a level of protection to the concrete, as it will help prevent water from flowing beneath the slabs and eroding away more soil. With a repaired and protected home, these owners have peace of mind and can continue to enjoy their outdoor space.

Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Smart Jacks Installation, Farmington, NH

Daniel H. of Farmington New Hampshire had experienced sagging floors in his home. He had known of this issue for a while and finally decided to fix it.

Design Specialist Paul Magowan came to the home and found out that the support was compromised by insects. Paul proposed that they have SmartJacks installed in their basement.

Crew Lead Jon Provost and his team came to the home and installed four SmartJacks into the basement of the home. The SmartJacks were installed and were able to boost up the house and level out the sagging floor.

Radon Mitigation System, Dover, NH

Homeowner Markus R. purchased this home in Dover, NH in late 2020. Upon testing for radon levels in his home, Markus learned that the levels were around 8 pci/l, which is 4 levels above the recommended. He reached out to several companies for quotes for installation of a radon mitigation system.

Design Specialist Royce Potts provided an exceptional inspection process and quote, and so Markus chose Erickson to complete the radon system for him.

The installation process was completed by crew lead Branden Edwards, who finished the project in a single day. Based off of Royce's design, Branden was able to install all the necessary pipes in the basement area and up over the roofline, where the harmful radon would vent out. Additionally, when Branden was up on his ladder, he noticed the gutter was clogged up with debris, and so took it upon himself to clean it out for Markus.

With a radon mitigation system in place, and a clean gutter as a bonus, Markus was very satisfied with the results of the project.

Garage Stabilization, Durham, NH

Chris S. of Durham, NH was experiencing some foundational issues under their garage that caused the concrete ceiling to start to crumble. Chris called EFS to see if they could assist in fixing his garage. Design Specialist, Nate Erickson, came out to the property and inspected the garage to see what is causing the ceiling to start to crumble. Nate found that in a cellar under the garage there is a crack that is caused the foundation to weaken. The crack has weakened the foundation which has caused movement and cracked the ceiling. Nate proposed that the Erickson Crew install a galvanized sheet to cover the crumbling ceiling, then installed a couple of beams that will span the width of the garage to secure the ceiling. Then to finish it off install PolyLEVEL to stabilize and level the foundation.

Crew Lead Scott Crandall and his team came to the home and installed the galvanized sheets on the ceiling and then installed a couple of I-beams across the width of the garage.

After the sheets and I-beams were installed, a second crew came to the home. The PolyLEVEL Crew led by Nick Melo came to the home and injected PolyLEVEL into the areas that were out of level.

Chris was happy to see that his garage was structurally sound again.

Sagging Floors, Barrington, NH

The homeowners of this 1985 home were seeing some 45 degree cracks in their second floor bedroom doors at the corners on both sides. There were some additional cracks in the closets and some nails popping in the stairwell. They were looking to get their home inspected to be sure they didn't have any serious foundation problems. One other thing to note is they two sump pumps, and fairly wet ground around the house which has been partially remediated but guttering and pouring a new basement floor in the addition portion of the house which was built in 1996. The homeowners were looking to renovate the upstairs but wanted to make sure they had no structural issues first.

Design specialist Brian Allen inspected the basement area of the home to determine why cracks were forming upstairs, and proposed the ideal solution for stabilizing the sinnking and settling areas of support. The lally columns under the main support beam in the home were gradually settling, and not providing the home with enough resistance and support. As the columns sank down, cracks in the drywall started appearing above in the home.

Our production team, led by Nick Carelli, installed several SmartJacks under the main support beam. The SmartJacks were placed over a secure footing of engineered fill to ensure they were properly supported for the weight of the home above. Additionally, they assisted the homeowner with better sealing the concrete around his existing sump pumps.

The with floor fully stabilized, the homeowners were able to begin their remodeling plans in their home.

Radon Mitigation, Barrington, NH

Homeowner James C. of Barrington was anxious to resolve his concerns with high radon levels in his home. He tested twice over the course of a year, and levels ranged between 5.8 and 13.8, well above the EPA's recommended level of 4.0 pci/l. James and his wife were planning to work from home more often, and so really wanted to improve the air quality where they would be spending the majority of their time. They received several quotes from contractors, and the most important factors to him were price, quality, and competency.

Design specialist Michael LaMalfa provided James with a thorough inspection and detailed proposal for the radon mitigation system his home needed to help lower the levels of radon. Ultimately, James chose our Erickson team to install the radon mitigation system his home needed.

The home had a large footprint and so required two extraction points in order to ensure the radon levels were properly lowered. Crew lead Scott Crandall and his team successfully installed the entire system in a single day, and James has had peace of mind knowing his radon levels are now safely below 4.0pci/l.

Radon Mitigation System, Farmington, NH

Sharon and Paul D. of Farmington, New Hampshire recently purchased their home. They received a radon test when they purchased their home. The levels from the test came back at 7.9 pCi/L, which is high. They decided to call Erickson Foundation Solutions to see if someone could come out and educate them on Radon. The reason that Sharon and Paul want to hear more about a radon mitigation system is that one of their parents is coming for a visit. Paul and Sharon don't want to expose them to anything harmful.

Design Specialist Paul Magowan came to the home and inspected the basement. He proposed that installing a radon mitigation system would help bring down the 7.9 pCi/l to a healthier level. The goal would be to have the pCi/l below 4.0 pCi/L, and Paul Magowan feels confident that a radon mitigation system will do that.

Crew Lead Branden Edwards came to the home and installed the radon mitigation system into the basement. Sharon and Paul were very pleased to have the radon mitigation system installed before the parents arrived.

Waterpoofing Basment, Somersworth, NH

Sharon B. of Somersworth, NH had a home that had been with her family for 4 years. Her daughter also lived in the home, and they were planning to finish the basement area in order to create more living space for the grandchildren to play. The basement was damp and showed signs of mold concerns, especially in the spring when the ground outside was wet and humidity was up. Before making plans to remodel and finish the basement, they wanted to address this moisture concern. The last thing they wanted to happen was complete their finished space and have it destroyed by water.

Design specialist Jason Vachon met with the family to discuss their concerns and inspect the basement area. Jason designed a waterproofing system that would eliminate the risk of water damaging any of the basement and keep the moisture levels low. Jason also discovered signs of settlement, as well as noticed the front foundation wall was bowing in slightly, something to keep an eye on for future movement.

For the time being, Sharon and the family decided to complete the waterproofing aspect of the project. A Fast Drain and sump pump system was installed along the length of the wall that showed signs of water entering. Any water entering here in the future would be pumped out and discharged far away from the home's foundation walls. They will also keep an eye on the foundation wall cracks and the bowing wall. In time, they may also need to address these concerns before the problems or cracks get worse.

Design Specialist Michael LaMalfa brought a radon test to the home and set it up in the house to test how high the radon levels are in the home. When Michael came back to review the test results he found that the results were around 15 pCi/L. He recommended installing a radon mitigation system in the home.

Crew Lead Dillon Kingsbury and his team installed a radon mitigation system into the house to bring down the radon levels to below 4 pCi/L.

Sagging Floors, Barrington, NH

A homeowner in Barrington, New Hampshire, had an issue where the floors in their home were sagging in various areas. The supports in the basement were timber and allowed the floors to sag and slope. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection.

The crew installed 5 SmartJacks and 16 feet of supplemental beam.

Water Ruining Finished Space, New Durham, NH

A homeowner in New Durham, New Hampshire, had water coming into their finished basement. The water was ruining the finished space and the homeowners don't want to redo the basement again.

Our design specialist recommended installing TripleSafe, WaterGuard, and IceGuard in the basement to collect the water and prevent it from ruining the finished space in the basement.

Our production crew installed The TripleSafe and WaterGuard into the basement in the basement and installed the IceGuard on the exterior of the home.

The homeowner was relieved that their basement will no longer be damaged by unwanted water.

Cracks in Foundation Wall, Somersworth, NH

A homeowner in Somersworth, Massachusetts, had some cracks in their foundation that they are concerned about. One year ago the home had the main beam replaced, and since then they have seen cracks in the foundation. Our design specialist Brian looked around the basement and the main living area of the home and found noticeable cracks in the foundation and other indications in the main living space. Our specialist recommended adding support to the foundation walls and under the main beam.

Our production team installed PowerBraces on the foundation wall to strengthen the walls. The PowerBrace is a beam that is slightly taller than the foundation wall, the beam is mounted to the base of the wall with a plate and is secured into place by connecting to the joists. Using the bracket to connect to the joist the team can tighten the PowerBrace as much as they can to straighten a wall that has begun to bow. The team installed PowerBraces every few feet around the entire perimeter of the basement. After the team finished installing the PowerBraces the team began prepping to install the SmartJacks. To prep for the new supports, the team chipped out concrete where each SmartJack will rest. The team opens a 2'x2'x18" hole under the concrete and filled most of the hole with engineered fill then the top of the fill is covered with concrete for the SmartJack to rest on. Once the supports are connected to the main beam the team sets the footing of the SmartJack in concrete to lock them in place. Our team was able to address their foundation concerns and add stability to their foundation walls and the main beam of their home.

Crawl Space Inspection, Dover, NH

Homeowners Carolin and Mark reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions after noticing the old, wooden beams in her crawl space were showing signs of rot and sagging. Her main concern was that the rot would eventually lead to the wood beams giving out and the floor, or entire home, would begin to sink or collapse. Rot also means their is moisture in the air, which means there is also poor air rising up into the living space as well.

Our specialist, Jason Vachon, conducted a thorough inspection and provided Carolin with a thorough analysis of her entire crawl space basement area, all within a few hours. The main concern Jason identified were the sistered beams and lack of support. The beams and joists spanned large distances, and as the wood aged and showed signs of rot, they began to bend and crack. Overall, the first floor of the home was going to need more supports from within the crawl space in order to properly stabilize the floor system.

Jason also recommended crawl space encapsulation to cover the dirt floor and foundation walls. CleanSpace would be the perfect fix to address the moisture coming into the crawl space through the walls. The vapor barrier system, combined with a SaniDry dehumidifier, would most certainly provide a permanent solution to the moisture and rot concerns being faced by this damp crawl space.

Carolin was impressed by Jason's professionalism and the solutions he provided throughout his inspection.

Detached Garage Has Foundation Issues, Barrington, NH

A homeowner in Barrington, New Hampshire, had a detached garage that had some cracks in the foundation. The homeowner wanted to install a jacuzzi on the second floor of the garage but they were worried about the strength of the foundation and wanted to address some water concerns in the basement of their home. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our design specialist Brian recommended several of our products to address all of the issues in their garage and basement. The products that Brian recommended using were PowerBraces, Geolocks, FlexiSpan, SmartJacks, NexusPro, UltraSump, and IceGuard.

Our team started by addressing the foundation walls. They began by installing 4 PowerBraces to the foundation wall in the garage. The PowerBraces works by using an L bracket mounted on the floor to brace the I beam against the wall. Then by using our system mounted in the rafters we applied outward pressure to stabilize the wall. After the PowerBraces were installed the team began installing the lone Geolock behind the staircase in the garage. The team started by digging a trench 10' away from the wall. The team then sends a rod through the foundation wall into the trench. On either end of the rod, the team attached Geolock Plates. After the plates were secured the team tightened the rod using a power drill. Once the plates were tightened the team backfilled the trench. Next, the team installed FlexiSpan on the wall to address some vertical cracks. The team chipped out some concrete at the bottom of the crack. This will create a path for the water to travel away from the home. After the concrete is chipped out, the team installed porous foam over the length of the crack and set it in place with an impermeable membrane that adhered to the wall. Following the team installing the Flexispan in the garage the team began installing the SmartJack. The SmartJack will add support to the floor when the homeowners install the jacuzzi on the second floor of the garage. The team started by chipping out some concrete where the SmartJack were going to be installed. The team dug down and filled the hole they dug with engineered fill and concrete to create stabile footing. The team waited for the concrete to cure. After the concrete was cured the team attached the SmartJack to the main beam and over the new concrete footing. After the SmartJack was secured the team covered the footing of the SmartJack with concrete to make sure it won't move. Following the installation of the SmartJacks the team moved into the basement to install some waterproofing.

The team installed FlexiSpan and NexusPro into the basement to seal up some cracks that are allowing water into the basement. Next, our team installed an Ultra Sump in the corner of the basement. Any water that entered the basement will be collected by the UltraSump. Attached to the drainage line out of the Ultra Sump is an IceGuard that will prevent water from freezing in the drainage line.

The homeowners are happy with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about water in their basement and foundation concerns in their detached garage. Now they can install the jacuzzi on the second floor of their garage.

Activating a Passive Radon System, Dover, NH

A homeowner in Dover, New Hampshire, was checking the mail one day when a letter showed it was radon awareness month in their mailbox. Inside the piece of mail, they said they would send a free radon test kit to their home. The homeowners filled out the piece of mail and sent it back to get their free radon test. When the homeowner finally received the radon test in the mail they set them up and proceeded to test their home. The results of the test were between 8.4-10.6 pCi/L, which is above the recommended amount. Our design specialist John noticed during his inspection that the home had a passive radon system. John recommended activating the passive system into an active radon mitigation system.

Our production team began by finding the passive radon system in the home. The team checked what condition the system was in, and decided to redo the radon pipe with PVC piping. The radon system started in the basement and made its way through the home and into the attic where it is vented through the roof. The team installed the radon fan in the attic where radon-filled air is pushed out of the home by the radon fan. By activating the radon system the radon levels in the home were reduced.

The homeowners are happy they no longer have to worry about the radon levels in their home.

Repair Moisture and Water Before Remodeling Basement, Lee, NH

A homeowner in Lee, New Hampshire, planned to remodel their finished basement. The basement currently had high moisture and water coming in. The homeowner wanted to stop the water from coming in and reduce the moisture in the basement before they start remodeling the space. Our design specialist Brian recommended installing FlexiSpan, an UltraSump, Ice Guard, WaterGuard, and a SaniDry into the basement to stop the water and moisture from entering the basement.

Our waterproofing team began by setting up a trench for the WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. The team used a jackhammer to chip out 42' of concrete big enough for our WaterGuard to be installed. The team fed the WaterGuard through the trench, they made sure to lead the WaterGuard to the area where we were installing the UltraSump. To install the UltraSump the team dug a basin big enough, then the team laid the sump pump into the basin and plumbed it. After the team plumbed the UltraSump they poured water down the WaterGuard to see if the water would collect in the sump and test the pump. After the team verified that the sump and perimeter drain worked, they moved on to seal a crack in the foundation that was allowing water into the basement. The team used FlexiSpan to seal the crack on the foundation wall. The FlexiSpan will act as a channel to collect the water that was entering through the crack and guide it into the perimeter drainage system. After the FlexiSpan was completed the team poured concrete over the WaterGuard and around the UltraSump basin to conceal it. The final step after the concrete cured was to install the SaniDry Sedona and connect its discharge line to the UltraSump.

The homeowner is happy they can proceed with remodeling their basement without worrying about water entering their basement.

FlexiSpan Installed, Dover, NH

A homeowner in Dover, New Hampshire had built this home in 1990. They have lived in the home for over 30 years and in late 2021 they noticed water entering their basement. The water has left the foundation wall looking unsightly so the homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our design specialist Jason examined where the water was entering the basement and recommended installing FlexiSpan over where the water was entering.

Our Crew Leader Anthony began by taping around the affected area. Then he chipped out some concrete at the base of the wall to create a drainage point for the FlexiSpan. After he chipped out the concrete, Anthony then laid the FlexiSpan over where the water was entering the basement. The FlexiSpan will collect the water in a channel and guide it down a drain. Once the FlexiSpan membrane was installed, Anthony then poured some crushed stone into where the drain was, then he tied in the FlexiSpan in with the drainage, and lastly mixed some concrete to seal it up.

The homeowners were happy that water will not be entering their basement anymore.

Water Consistently Entering The Basement, Dover, NH

A homeowner in Dover, New Hampshire, lived in a home that was built in the early 1900s. The foundation of the home is half fieldstone and half poured concrete. The homeowners have lived in the home for 10 years and have always had water entering their basement. They decided its time to repair the problem so they call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Isaac recommended installing 50ft of WaterGuard, a SuperSump, IceGuard, SaniDry, and a buried downspout.

Our production team began by chipping out the concrete along two of the walls in the basement. The team chipped out the concrete so they could install 50ft of WaterGuard. At the end of the WaterGuard, the team dug a basin to install our SuperSump to pump out the water that the WaterGuard collects. After the WaterGuard was laid against the wall and the SuperSump was installed into the basin, the team then poured concrete around the basin and over the WaterGuard to conceal the system. While the concrete was curing the team installed the SaniDry next to the WaterGuard. The team set the dehumidifier up so it will drain into the WaterGuard. The team then plumbed the SuperSump so it would drain the water away from the home. On the drainage line from the sump, the team used an IceGuard to prevent the drainage line from backing up into the basement. Continuing after the IceGuard, the team buried the drainage line away from the home.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project. They no longer have to worry about water entering their basement.

Water Entering Basement for the Past 20 Years, Rochester, NH

A homeowner in Rochester, New Hampshire, had lived in their home for the past 20 years, and every year since they purchased the home they had water enter their basement during periods of rain. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Homes Foundation Declared as Structural Failure, Rochester, NH

A homeowner in Rochester, New Hampshire, lives in a home that was built in 2004. The homeowner moved into the home in 2016 and then a couple of years later they started to notice cracks in the interior walls of the home. They contacted a structural engineer to see what was wrong with their home. They found that there isn't a foundation footing under their garage or their great room. The engineer declared the home as a structural failure. With this new information, the homeowners were forced to call a foundation company in their area. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their home. Our Design Specialist Victor provided a full inspection of their home while using the information that the engineer provided to the homeowners. Victor recommended installing Push Pier around the home and using PolyLevel to Frost mitigate around the home and fill the void under the slab in the garage.

Our team was instructed by Victor's design to install Push Piers on the interior of the garage foundation and install more Push Piers on the outside for the foundation surrounding the great room. The team installed 11 Push Piers on the interior foundation of the garage and 13 more Push Piers to the foundation around the great room. After the piers were installed, the team then used PolyLevel to Frost Mitigation around the garage and then fill the void under the garage slab.

Erickson was able to take this home that was deemed a structural failure and repair it. The homeowner was very thankful they contacted EFS to repair the foundation of their home.

Water Entering Basement, Dover, NH

A homeowner in Dover, New Hampshire recently purchased their home and there was water entering their basement upon purchase. The new homeowners wanted to address the water because they have plans to finish some of the basement in the future. The homeowners reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their basements to address their water concerns. Our Design Specialist John recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system in the basement. The system will include 127' of WaterGuard, 22' of Trench Drain, a TripleSafe, and two IceGuards.

Our installation team began by chipping out the perimeter of the basement so we could install the WaterGuard and our TripleSafe. The team removed all the debris and installed the TripleSafe and then the WaterGuard. The team then performed a water test to make sure the water that entered the WaterGuard would travel to the TripleSafe. Then the team plumbed the TripleSafe out of the basement to the outside of the home. On the exterior of the home, the team installed 2 IceGuards and then a 10' drainage line. Then the team tested the entire system before then pouring a layer of concrete over the WaterGuard and around the TripleSafe.

The homeowner was very happy with the system that EFS installed. They no longer have to worry about water entering their basement and could begin finishing their basement.

Water Seeping Through Building's Foundation, Dover, NH

An owner of a building in Dover, New Hampshire, had water entering the basement of the building through the foundation wall. The owner would like to find a solution that will prevent the water from seeping into the basement. The owner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of the building. Our Design Specialist Jason inspected the interior and exterior of the building and recommended installing Sentry Seal to the outside of the foundation wall to prevent water from seeping through the foundation wall and entering the basement.

Our installation team began by exposing 200' of foundation wall around the building using our excavator. The team exposed the wall about 5' so we could then install our Sentry Seal to the foundation wall. After the Sentry Seal was installed, the team then backfilled the dirt back against the foundation wall and tamped the dirt down.

Tight and Hard to Open Windows Hinted to Foundation Repair, Dover, NH

A homeowner in Dover, New Hampshire, was planning on installing new windows in their 2-family home. They had a window company come to their home and look at their windows. The person checking the windows noticed that the windows were difficult to open and the windows weren't square. They recommended having their foundation looked at before installing new windows. The homeowners decided to have a foundation repair company come and look at their foundation. The homeowner reached out to us and our Design Specialist Jason inspected the foundation and found that the foundation walls were bowing. Jason found that some walls were bowing up to 5", so he recommended installing an auxiliary wall to stabilize the wall. Jason also noticed some instability in the floors and some water markings on the floor of the basement, so he recommended installing SmartJacks and a perimeter drainage system.

Our installation team installed an Auxiliary wall to address the foundation wall. The team first installed Powerbraces against the wall every couple of feet. After the team installed all of the PowerBraces, we then set up rebar and forms to then fill them with concrete. While the team waited for the concrete in the Auxiliary wall to cure, the team installed 2 SmartJacks with a 10' supplemental beam to add support to the floor system. Next, the team installed 48' of WaterGuard, a SuperSump, an IceGuard, and a SaniDry Sedona into the home to address any moisture entering the basement. Our team first chipped out concrete along the perimeter of the basement so we could install the WaterGuard and SuperSump. The team then installed the SuperSump and WaterGuard and pumped the system outside the home where we installed our IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line. The team then installed a SaniDry Sedona and fed the discharge line into the SuperSump basin. Next, the team mixed up concrete and covered the WaterGuard and around the sump pump basin to lock them in place. Finally, the team removed the forms from the Auxiliary wall and trimmed any imperfections off of the concrete.

The homeowners were pleased with the results of the project.

Bulging Foundation Wall, Rochester, NH

A homeowner in Rochester, New Hampshire, lives in a home that was built in 1908 and they have lived there for the past 5 years. The homeowners removed some of the drywall in the basement and found that the stone and brick foundation wall was bulging inward. The homeowner became concerned about the foundation wall and decided that they should have this issue repaired. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their foundation. Our Design Specialist Isaac inspected the home and recommended installing an Auxiliary wall against the stone and brick foundation to stabilize the wall and prevent furth bulging.

Our Installation team began by removing the drywall and wood framing against the wall so we could begin to prep for installing the Auxiliary Wall. Once the wall was fully exposed, the team installed our PowerBraces every couple of feet down the wall. We secured the PowerBraces to the floor system and to the concrete floor. After the PowerBraces were secured the team then installed rebar and concrete forms around the PowerBraces and the wall. Once the forms were secured, the team poured concrete up near the top of the forms to create the Auxiliary Wall. Now the team had to wait a couple of days to make sure the concrete cured before they removed the form. After the concrete was cured the team then used removed all of the forms and trimmed off any imperfections on the concrete.

The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project and they no longer have to worry about the foundation wall bulging.

Water Entering Basement, Rochester, NH

A homeowner residing in Rochester, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for 17 years. Throughout their stay, they have constantly dealt with water entering their basement for over a decade. This spring, the problem became worse as more water entered the basement more frequently, prompting the homeowner to seek a solution. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection, and Michael LaMalfa, our Design Specialist, inspected the basement and suggested the installation of WaterGuard, SuperSump, IceGuard, and Exterior Drainage Line to prevent water accumulation on the floor.

Our experienced Installation Team, led by Steve Dumais, began by chipping out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement to install our perimeter drainage and sump pump. They installed the sump pump at the lowest corner of the basement to collect the maximum amount of water and plumbed it to the exterior of the home. On the outside of the house, the team installed our IceGuard and a 10' Exterior Drainage Line to dispose of the water away from the foundation of the home. While one team member was plumbing the sump pump, others installed the WaterGuard around the basement's perimeter. After all the drainage was in place, the team connected it to the sump pump to guide any water in the drainage system into the sump pump. Finally, they mixed concrete and covered the drainage and sump pump area to secure them in place.

The homeowner expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the project and no longer worries about water entering the basement.

Sump Pump Couldn't Keep Basement Dry, Barrington, NH

A homeowner residing in Barrington, New Hampshire had been living in their house for two decades when they noticed water seeping into their basement. In 2010, they installed a sump pump to keep the basement dry. The pump functioned properly for almost 13 years until water started to seep through the slab on the other side of the basement. The homeowner contacted EFS to request a free inspection of the basement. Our Design Specialist, Tom Armano, inspected the basement and recommended the installation of a Feed Line to collect water from the opposite end of the basement.

Dillon Kingsbury and his Installation Team started the installation process by chipping out concrete 24 feet across the basement to allow for the installation of the Feed Line. The team connected the Feed Line to the sump pump in the trench and installed a WaterGuard Port on the other end to facilitate the cleaning of the system. After the installation was complete, the team mixed up concrete and covered the line. The homeowner was extremely satisfied with the outcome of the project and was relieved that water seepage into their basement was no longer a concern.

Foundation Wall Is Bowing, Lee, NH

A Lee, New Hampshire homeowner lived in their house for 18 years and noticed a crack in the back wall of their detached garage foundation, which gradually grew larger over 3 years. Seeking a solution, the homeowner contacted Erickson Foundation Solutions for a free inspection. Design Specialist Victor Tapia inspected both the interior and exterior of the garage to identify the cause of the crack. Victor found that the foundation wall at the back of the garage was bowing outward, causing the crack to expand. Our team recommended installing 6 Geolocks on the back wall of the foundation.

The Installation Team, led by Neal Foley, began by drilling 6 small holes evenly across the foundation wall. After chipping out a trench 10' away from the foundation, parallel to the foundation wall, the team secured a galvanized rod through the foundation wall and into the trench. We attached a Geolock Anchor to each side of the rod. Once the Geolocks were secured, the team tightened them to straighten the foundation wall. Once the wall was stabilized, the team backfilled the trench and mixed up concrete to repour where we chipped out concrete from the slab.

The homeowner was delighted with the results, no longer worrying about the foundation wall of the garage.

Water Entering Basement, Farmington, NH

This homeowner in Farmington, New Hampshire, has owned this property as a second home for the past 25 years. In the last couple of years, they have seen water coming into their basement more and more often. After dealing with water coming into the basement for the past 5 or 6 years the homeowner has finally had enough. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Anthony Bracato met with the homeowner and inspected the basement to find a solution to stop water from entering the basement and collect on the floors. Anthony recommended installing a perimeter drainage system complete with 50' of WaterGuard, 16' of Trench Drain, a TripleSafe, 2 IceGuard, and a 20' Exterior Drainage Line.

Our Installation Team led by Gunther Billhardt began by chipping out a trench around the entire perimeter of the basement. The trench has to be approximately 6 inches wide and a few inches deep so the WaterGuard and Trench Drain could fit under the slab. After the trench was made the team then chipped out a section of concrete so we could install our TripleSafe basin flush with the basement slab. To make the basin fit flush the team had to dig down about 2.5 feet. After the basin was installed the team then installed the TripleSafe sump pump into the basement and plumbed the system to the outside of the home. On the exterior of the home, the team installed 2 IceGuards and a 20' Exterior Drainage Line that was buried in the yard. After the IceGuard and drainage line were installed the team returned inside the basement to pour concrete over the WaterGuard, Trench Drain, and around the basin of the TripleSafe.

The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project.

Avoiding Thermal Radiated Floors to Install Radon System, Farmington, NH

A homeowner in Farmington, New Hampshire, built their new home in October of 2022. Not even a year of living in their home they have become concerned with the radon levels within the home and are looking for a solution. The homeowners have a unique system on the floors of their basement that helps maintain the heat in the home. They have radiant heating installed under the slab of their basement. The heating system is often more efficient than forced air heating systems that tend to lose heat in the ducts and also bring in allergens. The problem with this system, as it relates to lowering the radon levels in the home, is that there are pipes that coil up and down the floor every couple of inches. The homeowner had reached out to a couple of companies in their area to see if they could install a system while avoiding damage to their radiant heating system. With the system being very expensive to repair if damaged, many of the companies turned away but not EFS. Our Design Specialist Jason Vachon met with the homeowner and carefully inspected the basement to determine if we had enough space between the heating lines to install our extraction point. Jason looked at the plans and found there will be enough room to install the system. After the inspection, Jason designed a radon system for the home and passed the design to the homeowner, and then once confirmed we sent them to our installation team.

Our Installation Team led by Branden Edwards arrived at the home and had to use a thermal imaging camera to identify where the lines of the heating system were located. The team then marked where they could install the extraction point and began drilling out a small 3" section of concrete. Next, the team installed PVC at the extraction point and fed it to the exterior of the home where the radon fan will be installed. Once the PVC pipe was fed to the exterior the team then installed the radon fan to the side of the home and connected the PVC pipe to the radon fan and then vented the system above the roofline of the home.

The homeowners were very impressed with EFS. We were able to come into a difficult job and still install our system and lower the radon levels in the home.

Upgrading Old Sump to TripleSafe, Dover, NH

This homeowner in Dover, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for the past 20 years. In the last couple of years, they finished the basement of the 1960s home. Recently they have had some rain storms that have overwhelmed their sump pump. They have had to clean up the water that the sump couldn't pump out. They don't want to worry about this in the future so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their sump pump. Our Design Specialist George Gouthier met with the homeowners and he examined the pump and recommended installing our TripleSafe, a bigger and more powerful sump pump.

Our installation team led by Gunther Billhardt began by removing the old sump pump from the basement. This included the liner and all of the drainage lines. After that was removed the team began to install our bigger and stronger TripleSafe liner, then the three pumps and the drainage line. Once everything was in position and operational, the team then mixed up concrete and poured it around the sump pump basin to lock it into place.

The team then cleaned up the job site and showed the homeowner the new pump. The homeowner was surprised with the size of the new TripleSafe that will keep their basement dry.

Waterproofing and Eliminating Mold, New Durham, NH

Michael and Angela own a home in New Durham, New Hampshire and were experiencing flooding in their finished basement. Their basement leaked every time it rained and have experienced up to 3 inches of water seepage at a time. This has damaged flooring, walls, rugs, and storage while also creating mold. These issues, along with mold being a bad allergen to Angela, drove these homeowners to look for a permanent solution. Our team was more than happy to help offer a solution to provide a dry basement and eliminate these ongoing issues.
After providing a free inspection, our Design Specialist Jason Vachon recommended installing our TripleSafe sump pump along with our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. This system is designed to capture water at the perimeter of the basement and drain into the sump pump, where it is then pumped out of the house through an exterior drainage line. Jason also recommended installing a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to take moisture out of the basement and alleviate issues with the mold. Michael and Angela loved that solution and our installation crew got to work.

The TripleSafe sump pump was installed at the lowest point of the basement, where we chipped out concrete and created a basin for the pump to sit. The WaterGuard perimeter drainage system was implemented around the edge of the basement floor, and then connected to the sump pump. Once that was complete, we cemented the entire system in place. We then installed the exterior drainage line (or EDL) and buried it underground where the water would drain in a safe location. Lastly, we installed the SaniDry Sedona next to the sump pump.
Once this waterproofing system was in place, the basement was no longer at risk of flooding. Now, these homeowners can enjoy their finished basement safely with peace of mind.

Adding Perimeter Drainage to Sump Pump, Strafford, NH

Gregory K. is a homeowner in Strafford, New Hampshire who has been experiencing water in his finished basement, despite already having a sump pump.  The problem was slowly getting worse and occurred whenever there were heavy rains and snow melted. He no longer wants to be concerned with the cleanup process and doesn't want to have to worry about flooding when he travels for long periods of time. He reached out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team for a permanent solution to keep his basement dry.

After reaching out to one of our Customer Care Specialists, an appointment was set up for a Design Specialist to come out and conduct a free inspection of the home. Jason Vachon, the Design Specialist, recommended installing our WaterGuard system, TripleSafe sump pump, and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This combination of waterproofing products would capture water before being exposed to the home, pump up to 2,220 gallons of water out of the home per hour, and keep the basement a comfortable and welcoming space. Already comfortable with the sump pump they owned, we proceeded to install our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. We chipped out concrete in the area where water was most prominent and laid crushed stone and the WaterGuard System in place. We then connected that system to the existing sump pump. Once everything was connected, we cemented the system in place.

This allows Gregory to enjoy his basement without worry. Our team was happy to offer a solution that provides him with peace of mind.

Proactively Waterproofing a Basement, Dover, NH

Seth M. of Dover, New Hampshire had noticed water leaking around the bulkhead of his basement. Before leaking and puddling got worse, Seth wanted to be proactive and waterproof areas of the basement that were at risk, including his woodshop. In order to find a solution to this issue, Seth reached out to our team.

After reaching out to one of our Customer Care Specialists, we scheduled an appointment for a free inspection of the home. Our Design Specialist, Josh Phillips, recommended installing our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. The system was installed along the perimeter of the basement slab where areas were most affected. Our installation crew chipped out concrete, put the WaterGuard system in place above crushed stone, and connected it to Seth's already installed sump pump. Then, everything was cemented in place. This waterproofing system works by safely capturing water before it enters the home, directing it towards the sump pump, and then removing it from the home through an exterior drainage line.

With the waterproofing systems in place, Seth's woodshop, along with the other affected areas of his basement, will now remain safe and dry!
