Sump Pump Failure
The previously installed sump pump was not effectively capturing or managing the groundwater seepage occurring within the home, resulting in continued moisture intrusion.
Finished Basement Flooring Removal
When finished basements lack proper waterproofing systems, significant and costly damage can occur. In this case, recurring basement flooding forced the homeowner to remove the finished flooring. The prolonged presence of groundwater also led to musty odors, indicating potential mold development beneath the flooring and behind the drywall. These issues highlight the importance of a reliable moisture‑management system to protect both the structural components and the indoor air quality of the home.
Basement Drainage System
WaterGuard® was strategically installed along the full interior perimeter of the basement to intercept groundwater at its point of entry, preventing it from reaching the finished living space. Once collected, water is efficiently directed through the WaterGuard® drainage channel to the sump pump system, where it is safely discharged away from the home.
Drywall Removal
Drywall was removed to allow the WaterGuard® system to be properly installed beneath the finished walls. This ensures the drainage channel maintains a continuous, unobstructed path to the sump pump, allowing all collected water to be directed efficiently out of the home.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The drainage system integrates seamlessly with the TripleSafe™ sump pump configuration to provide comprehensive water management. In the photo, you can see a TrenchDrain™ installed at the base of the bulkhead stairs. This surface drainage component is designed to intercept and channel away any water that may enter from the exterior stairway, preventing it from reaching the basement interior. The TripleSafe™ system delivers three layers of protection: a primary pump for routine groundwater removal, a high-capacity secondary pump that automatically activates during heavy water intrusion events, and a battery‑powered backup pump that continues operating during power outages or mechanical failure. Working together, these pumps ensure consistent, high‑volume water evacuation, providing reliable, around‑the‑clock protection for the home.
Basement Dehumidifier
The SaniDry™ XP dehumidifier was professionally installed and ducted to ensure highly efficient moisture removal throughout the basement while maintaining an unobtrusive appearance. This advanced system delivers continuous, powerful dehumidification, creating a more stable and comfortable environment within the finished space. By maintaining proper humidity levels, the unit eliminates musty odors and prevents the conditions that lead to mold growth, wood deterioration, and other moisture‑related issues-effectively ensuring long‑term air quality and structural protection.
