PowerBraces were then installed, which consist of steel I-beams that are secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets. A SmartJack was also installed to support the floor joist system. Concrete was then poured to create the auxiliary wall. 

After the concrete dried, the crew looked over the work, cleaned up the space, and performed a final walkthrough with the homeowner. The wall is now stabilized and can be added on in the future if the homeowner so chooses to finish the basement.

This homeowner already had Lally columns all throughout her basement, but they could not provide the proper support that was needed. SmartJacks offer more support by inserting a galvanized steel plate into the foundation. This steel plate sits on a sturdy base of crushed stone. The galvanized steel post is then attached to the plate, and also connects to a supplemental beam. Once installed, they are cemented in place.

The SmartJacks not only prevented the floor from sinking further, but they also raised and leveled the floor as well. This homeowner was thrilled that the sagging and uneven floors had been fixed, and that the structure of her home is now properly supported!
