Photo Album: Foundation Issues to be Addressed Before Remodeling, Orange, NH
A homeowner in Orange, Massachusetts, lives in a home that was originally built in the 1700s. The homeowners wanted to renovate the home but they realized they should first address the homes foundation and floor system before that. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Victor recommended rebuilding a large section of their stone foundation wall with a new Masonry Block Wall and then adding SmartJacks in the crawlspace to add stability to the floor system.
Our Installation team began by exposing the entire stone foundation wall and setting up temporary posts so they could remove the stone foundation. Once the temp posts were set up the team removed the old stone foundation wall and then began to pour a footing for the Masonry wall. After the footing had cured the team began building up the Masonry Block Wall. After the team completed the wall, they moved into the crawlspace to start installing the SmartJacks to the floor system. The team installed 6 SmartJacks into the crawlspace and used 28' of the supplemental beam to bridge the floor joists. The supplemental beam will allow the team to lift up the floor system as a whole and strengthen the entire floor.
