Drywall Damage
Due to the substantial presence of water in the soil surrounding the foundation, the foundation wall would intermittently experience water seepage during heavy rains or storms. This seepage exposed the drywall to potential damage, including mold growth, thereby compromising the aesthetic and structural integrity of the finished basement.
Drywall Removal
We removed the lower portion of drywall to allow space for our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system to be installed.
WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System
Concrete along the basement perimeter was removed to facilitate the installation of the WaterGuard system beneath the slab. WaterGuard intercepts water before it can penetrate the basement, directing it to the sump pump. Following installation, the system was flood-tested and secured with concrete.
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
CleanSpace was applied to the foundation wall to capture seepage and channel it directly into the WaterGuard system. This prevents humidity and mold growth, thereby protecting the drywall in the finished basement from potential damage.
IceGuard
IceGuard serves as a failsafe for water removal during freezing temperatures. In the event that the discharge line freezes or becomes clogged, IceGuard ensures that water can still be expelled from the home, thereby preventing flooding caused by blockages.
Discharge Line
The discharge line was extended to a secure location away from the home to prevent water from flowing back towards the foundation and potentially re-entering the basement. The line was then buried, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the lawn.
