Old Sump Pump
Given the elevated water table surrounding the home's foundation, the previously installed sump pump proved inadequate in managing the substantial water influx. A more robust waterproofing system was required to ensure the basement remains dry.
WaterGuard
To effectively intercept water before it reaches the basement, WaterGuard was installed. The installation process involved chipping out concrete along the basement's perimeter. The system was then embedded in crushed stone to enhance drainage efficiency. The water collected by this interior French drain is subsequently directed to the sump pump for removal from the home.
Perimeter Drainage Tied into Surface Drainage
TrenchDrain is employed in areas where WaterGuard installation is impractical. This surface drainage system integrates seamlessly with WaterGuard, creating a unified pathway for water to be directed to the sump pump.
Drainage System Concreted into Foundation
Following flood testing to verify effective drainage to the sump pump, WaterGuard and TrenchDrain are securely embedded in concrete within the foundation floor.
Drainage System Tied into Sump Pump
A two-foot basin is constructed to accommodate the installation of the TripleSafe Sump Pump, facilitating the downward flow of water and enhancing the drainage system's effectiveness. The photo illustrates the elevated water table. Once operational, the TripleSafe Sump Pump efficiently manages this substantial water volume with ease.
Sump Pump System Concreted
The TripleSafe Sump Pump system comprises three pumps: a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-operated backup pump. This configuration effectively handles high water volumes and ensures reliable operation during power outages. Homeowners can thus enjoy the ultimate peace of mind, knowing their basement will remain dry under all conditions.
IceGuard
The TripleSafe expels water from the basement via a discharge line. As this line exits the home, IceGuard is installed as a failsafe to prevent backups due to clogs. While such blockages are rare, IceGuard ensures the discharge line remains unobstructed, thereby preventing basement flooding.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot is installed at the terminus of the discharge line to enhance soil drainage, thereby mitigating marshy areas and pooling on the lawn. The discharge line is subsequently buried to maintain the lawn's aesthetic appeal.
