A homeowner in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, had used this home as their second home since the 1970s but now they wanted to use it as their primary residence. To prepare for living in Center Ossipee full time the homeowners decided to have the home tested for radon. The homeowner placed a 24/7 radon monitoring system into the home to test the radon levels. The radon levels in the home were tested for 48 hours and the results came back with radon levels around 37 pCi/L, which was high. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a radon inspection, and our design specialist recommended installing a radon mitigation system with 2 extraction points.
The production team began by creating the two extraction points in the basement, one in the northeast corner and the other in the southwest corner located in the utility room. The team chipped out a small section of the concrete floor to create the extraction point. The team connected PVC to each extraction point and then connected each extraction point together to lead to the radon fan. The radon fan was installed in the southwest corner of the home.
The homeowner is very happy with the results of the radon system being installed. The homeowners no longer have to worry about high radon levels in their home.
