Falling Crawl Space Insulation
Excess moisture within the crawl space compromised the existing insulation, causing it to detach, while prolonged humidity exposure contributed to sagging floor joists. These conditions resulted in uneven, cold floors throughout the home.
Floor Support
SmartJacks were installed to lift and permanently stabilize the sagging floor joists, restoring the floor system to its proper position. Visible on the left side of the photo, drainage matting and TerraBlock insulation were also being installed as part of the crawl space encapsulation process. The drainage matting helps direct water away and prevents moisture from pooling beneath the home, while TerraBlock provides both thermal insulation and an additional vapor barrier layer. SilverGlo rigid foam insulation panels were installed along the crawl space walls to enhance thermal performance, helping to reduce heat loss, improve overall energy efficiency, and eliminate cold floors throughout the home.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
CleanSpace was installed throughout the crawl space to fully encapsulate the area with a durable vapor barrier system. This encapsulation protects the home from excess ground moisture and humidity that can contribute to structural deterioration over time. By maintaining a dry, controlled environment, the system helps preserve the integrity of the floor joists, reduce musty odors, and improve overall indoor air quality throughout the home.
Crawl Space Vent Cover
An insulated crawl space vent cover was installed to maintain the integrity of the crawl space encapsulation system and minimize outside air infiltration. By sealing the vent, the system helps improve energy efficiency, regulate crawl space conditions, and protect the home from excess moisture and humidity intrusion.
