Wet Crawl Space
The wet crawl space was a significant concern for the homeowners due to the musty odors it was creating throughout the home. Persistent moisture and standing water in a crawl space can lead to elevated humidity levels, creating an environment conducive to mold growth and wood rot. Over time, moisture-related deterioration of the floor joists can compromise their structural integrity, resulting in weakened support and noticeably bouncy or uneven floors above.
Crawl Space Drainage System
WaterGuard® was installed along the interior perimeter of the crawl space, directly above the foundation footing. This interior drainage system is designed to intercept groundwater seepage before it can reach the crawl space floor, efficiently channeling collected water to the sump pump for discharge away from the home.
Crawl Space Drainage Matting
Drainage matting was installed across the crawl space floor to create a protective drainage layer beneath the encapsulation system. Its raised design allows groundwater and moisture to move freely underneath, preventing water from pooling on the floor and directing it efficiently to the perimeter drainage system for removal.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
CleanSpace® was professionally installed across the crawl space floor and walls to create a continuous vapor barrier that fully encapsulates the space. This durable liner helps isolate the crawl space from the earth, preventing moisture vapor from entering and contributing to elevated humidity levels. By controlling moisture intrusion, the encapsulation system creates a drier, healthier environment that helps protect the home from mold growth, wood rot, and other moisture-related issues.
Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System was installed to provide reliable, year-round protection against water intrusion. Featuring three levels of pumping capability, the system includes a primary pump for everyday water management, a secondary pump for periods of heavy water flow, and a battery-powered backup pump that continues operating during power outages. This multi-layered design ensures groundwater is efficiently removed from the crawl space, helping maintain a dry environment and reducing the risk of water damage.
Discharge Line Antifreeze System
Water collected by the system is conveyed away from the home through a dedicated discharge line. At the point where the discharge line exits the foundation, an IceGuard® fitting is installed as a critical safety feature. In the event the exterior discharge line becomes obstructed by ice or freezing temperatures, the IceGuard® provides an alternate escape route for water, helping to prevent backups that could lead to basement flooding. After exiting the home, the discharge line is buried to promote proper drainage and protect it from damage.
