Wet Crawl Space
Excessive moisture within the crawl space can create conditions conducive to wood rot and structural deterioration of the floor framing system. Over time, this degradation may compromise the integrity of the support members, resulting in uneven or sagging floors above. Additionally, the homeowner reported noticeable odors emanating from the crawl space, which are likely associated with elevated moisture levels and the resulting microbial growth and organic material decay.
Crawl Space Encapsulation
A drainage matting system was installed beneath the CleanSpace® encapsulation liner to facilitate the collection and controlled movement of groundwater to the designated drainage system. The crawl space was then fully encapsulated with the CleanSpace vapor barrier, creating a continuous moisture barrier that helps prevent ground moisture and humidity from infiltrating the crawl space and affecting the living areas above. By reducing moisture intrusion, this system helps protect the home's structural components, improves indoor air quality, and promotes a healthier, more durable living environment.
Crawl Space Sump
A SmartSump® system was installed within the crawl space to efficiently collect and discharge groundwater and excess moisture from beneath the encapsulation system. By actively managing water intrusion, the system helps maintain a dry crawl space environment, protecting structural components from moisture-related damage and supporting the long-term effectiveness of the encapsulation system.
