Failing Crawl Space Moisture Barrier
The existing crawl space moisture barrier had failed to provide adequate protection against groundwater intrusion and excess humidity, allowing moisture to enter the area. These conditions created an environment conducive to mold growth and elevated radon concentrations.
Crawl Space Drainage System
StarPipe drainage was strategically installed along the interior perimeter of the crawl space foundation to intercept groundwater intrusion caused by hydrostatic pressure. The system captures and directs accumulated water to a sump pump, where it is efficiently discharged away from the home to maintain a dry and protected crawl space environment.
Drainage System Connected to Sump Pump
To enhance water management within the crawl space, the StarPipe drainage system was tied into the existing sump pump system. This integration allows groundwater collected by the drainage network to flow directly into the sump liner, where it can be effectively pumped away from the foundation.
Crawl Space Drainage Matting
Drainage matting was installed across the crawl space floor to create a drainage layer beneath the encapsulation system, preventing water accumulation and directing any groundwater intrusion toward the perimeter drainage system for effective removal.
CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation
The CleanSpace® encapsulation system was installed to create a continuous moisture barrier that isolates the crawl space from the earth below, helping to prevent humidity and ground moisture from entering the area. Additionally, the system serves as a critical component in reducing soil gas infiltration, providing an added layer of protection against radon entering the home.
SaniDry XP Crawl Space Dehumidifier
A SaniDry™ XP dehumidifier was installed within the crawl space to maintain optimal humidity levels and provide ongoing moisture control. By reducing excess airborne moisture, the system helps inhibit mold growth, improve crawl space conditions, and promote healthier indoor air quality throughout the home.
