Failing Wooden Crawl Space Supports
The original wooden crawl space support posts had weakened over time and were no longer capable of adequately supporting the floor system. As a result, the floors began to sag, creating noticeable deflection and a bouncy feel when walked on.
Soil Removal
Soil was carefully excavated to provide adequate clearance for the installation of the SmartJack support bases.
Engineered Fill
Engineered fill was placed and compacted to create a stable bearing surface for the SmartJack support bases.
SmartJack Base
The galvanized steel SmartJack bases were precisely leveled to establish a stable support system and maximize structural load distribution.
SmartJack Post Secured to Supplemental Beam
A supplemental beam was installed beneath the floor joists to distribute loads more evenly and enhance the overall stability of the floor system. The SmartJack support posts were then secured to the beam and precisely adjusted to provide proper structural support and help restore the floors toward their original elevation.
SmartJacks Secured to Main Beam
SmartJack support posts were connected to the main beam and precisely adjusted to provide permanent structural support, stabilizing the floor system and restoring it toward its intended elevation.
Soil Backfill and Grading
The excavated areas were backfilled and graded to restore a uniform crawl space floor surface and maintain proper site conditions.
