Wet and Cold Crawl Space
The crawl space's wet, unconditioned environment allowed moisture intrusion and inadequate thermal protection, resulting in cold floors throughout the winter months. The existing fiberglass insulation had become saturated and compressed, significantly reducing its insulating effectiveness while creating favorable conditions for mold growth. Prolonged moisture exposure also raised concerns regarding wood decay, which can compromise the long-term structural integrity of the floor system.
SilverGlo Crawl Space Insulation
SilverGlo™ is a rigid graphite-enhanced EPS insulation panel installed along the crawl space walls to create a continuous thermal barrier. Featuring a reflective radiant barrier surface and high insulating value, SilverGlo helps reduce heat loss through the foundation walls, improves energy efficiency, and maintains more consistent indoor temperatures throughout the home.
Crawl Space Drainage Matting
Drainage matting was installed across the crawl space floor to create a separation layer between the earth and the home. Its dimpled design promotes water movement beneath the encapsulation system, helping prevent standing water while facilitating efficient drainage into the underlying soil.
CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation
CleanSpace® was installed throughout the crawl space to encapsulate the area and protect the home from moisture intrusion. The heavy-duty vapor barrier helps keep the crawl space dry, reduces humidity levels, and contributes to improved comfort, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.
