Crawl Space Lacking Support
The absence of structural support columns within the crawl space compromised the load-bearing integrity of the floor system. Over time, this lack of support resulted in differential settlement and sagging of the floors above, which ultimately caused stress fractures around the hearth area.
Polyurethane Foam Free Spray
PolyLevel®, a high-density polyurethane foam, was applied to the fieldstone foundation to resecure and stabilize displaced stones. This process restored structural continuity and reinforced the load-bearing capacity of the hearth area.
Floor Stabilization
SmartJacks were installed within the crawl space to provide structural stabilization and restore the floor system to its original elevation. This was achieved by integrating a supplemental steel beam between the SmartJacks and the existing joists. The SmartJack system's adjustable design enables precise load transfer and incremental elevation adjustments, ensuring long-term stability and support for the joists.
