Failing Support Jacks
The support jacks installed in the crawl space were not engineered to provide long-term structural stability. These temporary supports were improperly utilized as a permanent solution, which compromised the integrity of the load-bearing system. Over time, this resulted in stress on the beams and joists, leading to deflection and noticeable floor sagging above.
Concrete Removal for Footings
To begin the installation, we established temporary structural supports to stabilize the area and safely remove the existing inadequate columns. Next, we excavated the concrete at the designated SmartJack locations to create space for properly engineered footings, ensuring a stable and permanent foundation for the new support system.
Footings Reinforced with Rebar
Reinforcing steel (rebar) was integrated into the concrete footings to provide additional tensile strength and improve structural integrity, ensuring long-term durability under load.
Footings Leveled
The footings were precisely leveled to establish a stable and uniform base, ensuring optimal load distribution and providing a secure foundation for the SmartJack support system.
Stabilized Floors
The SmartJacks were precisely calibrated to deliver optimal load-bearing support to the existing beams and, where feasible, restore the floors to their intended elevation. Once adjustments were complete, the SmartJacks were permanently secured by encasing their bases in concrete, ensuring long-term stability and a durable structural solution.
