Foundation Crack
A foundation wall crack raised concerns about potential settlement and the long-term protection of the homeowner's finished basement. Wanting to address the underlying structural issue before it progressed, the homeowner sought a permanent foundation stabilization solution to help prevent further movement and safeguard their home.
Push Piers Driven into Soil
To stabilize the foundation and address the underlying settlement, our crew installed a push pier system. The installation process began with carefully excavating around the foundation to expose the home's footing. We then secured engineered steel brackets to the footing and hydraulically advanced the push piers deep into competent load-bearing soil, creating a stable foundation support system designed to transfer the home's weight beyond weak or shifting soils.
Push Piers Pressurized
Once the push piers reached competent load-bearing soil, they were hydraulically synchronized and loaded to transfer the weight of the structure from unstable soils to the pier system. After achieving the desired load, the piers were permanently secured with steel caps and brackets, providing long-term foundation stabilization and helping prevent further settlement.
Interior Push Pier and Crack Seal
Due to site constraints that limited exterior access, one of the push piers was installed from the interior of the home to ensure the foundation received the necessary support. During the project, our crew also sealed a crack in the interior foundation wall, helping to prevent water intrusion and improve the overall integrity of the foundation system.
Push Pier Backfill
The exterior foundation crack was also professionally sealed to help prevent water intrusion and further deterioration of the foundation wall. Following the installation, the excavated areas were carefully backfilled and restored, leaving the property with a stabilized foundation system and a clean, finished appearance.
