The existing lally column failed to adequately support the floors above the basement, resulting in noticeable sagging and unevenness. To ensure structural integrity and prepare for basement finishing, a more robust stabilization solution was imperative.
Footing Excavation
Concrete and soil were removed where SmartJacks will be installed to allow space to install durable footings.
Rebar Reinforced Footings
The footings are reinforced with rebar to enhance their structural integrity, thereby maximizing their overall strength and stability.
Concrete Footing
Concrete is poured into the excavated area to form the footing. Subsequently, additional concrete is placed over the rebar and meticulously leveled to ensure a solid and even foundation.
Installing SmartJack to Foundation Footing
Once the concrete footing cures, the SmartJacks can be placed on top of them.
SmartJack Completed Installation
The SmartJacks are affixed to the main beam, and their fully adjustable design ensures precise installation, delivering optimal support to lift, level, and stabilize the floors. Once installed, the SmartJacks are cemented into the foundation to further enhance stability. With the basement's structural integrity now restored, homeowners can confidently proceed with finishing their basement, knowing it is secure for the long term.
