Cracked Garage Floor
Voids beneath the perimeter of the garage floor entrance allowed frost to infiltrate the foundation, leading to concrete damage. To prevent further deterioration of the garage floor, a comprehensive solution addressing frost seepage and its impact on the foundation was necessary.
Garage Floor Excavation
The concrete adjacent to the garage floor entrance was excavated to facilitate the installation of helical piers, followed by the pouring of a new slab. This approach ensures enhanced structural support and mitigates future frost-related damage.
Drilling Helical Piers
Prior to pouring the new slab, helical piers were drilled into stable, load-bearing soil to provide robust support. This stabilization method prevents future settling and ensures that frost cannot infiltrate beneath the home's foundation, thereby protecting it from potential damage.
Helical Piers Installed
After the helical piers were installed, the trenched area designated for the slab pour was reinforced with rebar. This reinforcement enhances the structural integrity of the slab, ensuring long-term durability and resistance
Garage Floor Slab Pour
The new section of garage slab was then poured and leveled.
Frost Barrier
Our PolyLevel solution is renowned for its ability to fill voids beneath concrete, effectively lifting and stabilizing the structure. In this project, we employed PolyLevel as a frost barrier, ensuring that frost cannot penetrate beyond the slab, thereby safeguarding the foundation from potential frost-related damage.
Restoring Garage Floor
Once the initial slab had cured, additional concrete was poured and meticulously leveled to restore the garage floor to its optimal condition. This final step ensures a smooth, durable surface that is resistant to future frost-related damage.
Rotting Lally Column
The lally column, which is crucial for supporting the weight of the home above the garage, was compromised due to significant rusting. This deterioration raised serious concerns about the structural integrity of the garage.
SmartJack Cemented Into Foundation
We replaced the deteriorating lally column with our advanced SmartJack system. Constructed from galvanized steel, the SmartJack system is impervious to rust. Additionally, it is securely anchored into the foundation, providing enhanced structural support
SmartJack Installed to Main Beam
The SmartJack system was installed to the main beam to stabilize the section of the home above the garage. Its fully adjustable design allows for precise installation, enabling the lifting and leveling of the floors above the garage.
