Unstable Parking Spot
This area was designated for heavy truck parking. The substantial weight of these vehicles, combined with the instability of the retaining wall, raised concerns about accelerated deterioration and the potential for a structural collapse.
Cracked Retaining Wall
The significant cracking observed on the retaining wall was indicative of structural failure. Implementing a permanent solution was crucial to ensure the safety and stability of the structure, as well as the vehicles parked above it.
GeoLock Trench
To prevent the retaining wall from bowing outward and to stabilize it, we excavated asphalt, concrete, and soil from the center of the parking area to create a trench for the installation of GeoLock anchors.
GeoLock Rods
GeoLock rods were inserted through the retaining wall and extended into the trenched area.
GeoLock Anchors
After the GeoLock rods are drilled into the trench, the GeoLock anchors are affixed to the rods and anchored into stable soil.
GeoLock Plates
Once the GeoLock anchors are installed, the GeoLock plates are secured and tightened, thereby stabilizing the wall and providing additional support capable of withstanding the weight of vehicles parked above.
GeoLock Plate Covers
GeoLock plate covers were installed over the GeoLock plates to enhance the aesthetic appearance.
