Failing Support Posts
The lally columns depicted in this photo were insufficient to adequately support the floors above the basement, resulting in noticeable sagging. To effectively stabilize and restore the structural integrity of the floors, a more robust and durable solution, such as our SmartJack System, was required.
Clean Work Area
Our crews take great pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. We commenced the project by erecting plastic barriers around all personal items and valuables, ensuring minimal disruption and safeguarding the belongings throughout the process.
Temporary Jacks
The existing lally columns were removed to facilitate the installation of our SmartJack System. During the installation process, temporary jacks were employed to support the load of the floors above the basement, ensuring structural stability and safety until the SmartJacks were fully installed.
Footing Excavation
Concrete and soil were excavated at the designated locations for the SmartJack installations, initiating the process of creating stable footings.
Footing with Rebar
The footings were reinforced with rebar, enhancing their structural integrity and durability.
Footings Cured
Concrete was poured and meticulously leveled to form the footings. Once the concrete cures, these footings provide enduring support, effectively preventing future settlement.
SmartJack Base
For SmartJacks installed to support the supplemental beam, their bases were comprised of robust steel plates.
SmartJack Supporting Main Beam
The SmartJack system is fully adjustable, designed to precisely support and elevate floors to their intended position. Certain SmartJacks were installed directly to the main beam, thereby restoring stability and structural integrity to the floors.
SmartJack Supporting Supplemental Beam
SmartJacks were installed to a supplemental beam to optimize the distribution of the weight from the floors above, ensuring more efficient load-bearing and enhanced structural support.
SmartJacks Cemented into Foundation
Once the SmartJacks are securely installed to the main and supplemental beams, they are cemented into the foundation. Each phase of this installation process enhances durability and support, ultimately providing a permanent solution to restore the homeowner's sagging floors.
