Bowing Retaining Wall
As depicted in the photo, the retaining wall was bowing inward, posing a significant risk of collapse if not promptly addressed. Stabilizing the retaining wall was crucial to preserving the structural integrity of the home and safeguarding the vehicle parked adjacent to it from potential damage.
GeoLock Anchors
The crew initiated the project by excavating a trenched area away from the retaining wall. Galvanized steel rods were then drilled through the retaining wall, extending underground into the trenched area. Upon reaching the trenched area, GeoLock anchors were affixed to the rods and securely embedded into the stable soil.
GeoLock Plates
GeoLock plates were installed on the retaining wall, effectively tightening the GeoLock system. This process ensured that the retaining wall was supported by anchors firmly embedded in the stable soil. Over time, this system not only stabilizes but can also straighten the bowing wall.
GeoLock Backfill
Following the successful installation, the trenched area is backfilled to restore the lawn. Despite the challenging, rocky work environment, our crew took meticulous care to preserve the lawn to the best of their ability.
