Failing Wooden Floor Supports
The tree trunks employed as structural supports were inadequate in sustaining the floor above the basement, as indicated by the presence of cracks and the deformation of the supports. Consequently, this resulted in the floors exhibiting sagging and sloping characteristics.
SmartJack Footing Excavation
Concrete and soil were excavated at the designated locations for the SmartJacks installation to establish a robust foundation for the SmartJacks to be securely positioned.
SmartJack Footing with Rebar
The excavated areas were filled with concrete and reinforced with rebar to enhance the structural integrity of the footings.
SmartJack Base
Additional concrete is poured and meticulously leveled over the rebar. Upon curing, the SmartJacks can be securely positioned atop the footings.
SmartJacks Concreted into Foundation
To enhance the durability of the SmartJack system, the SmartJack posts are securely embedded into the basement foundation using cement.
Completed SmartJack Installation
The SmartJack system is fully adjustable, enabling precise modifications to support the main beam and, consequently, the floor joists. Constructed from galvanized steel, these supports offer a significantly more durable and reliable solution compared to the tree trunks that previously attempted to maintain the home's structural integrity.
