Failing Temporary Lally Columns
Temporary lally columns installed throughout the crawl space were insufficient for providing sustained structural support to the floor system above. Over time, this lack of permanent stabilization led to progressive floor sagging and a noticeable bouncy or uneven feel underfoot. To restore proper load-bearing capacity, a more durable and engineered support solution was required.
SmartJack Footing Concrete Removal
To prepare for the installation of SmartJack® support posts, targeted excavation was performed to remove sections of concrete and underlying soil at designated locations. This allowed for the creation of structurally sound footings capable of supporting the load-bearing components of the system, ensuring long-term stability and performance.
Concrete Footings Reinforced with Rebar
The excavated areas designated for SmartJack® installation were backfilled with poured concrete reinforced with steel rebar to create robust, load-bearing footings. This reinforcement enhances the structural integrity of the support system, ensuring long-term stability and resistance to settlement under dynamic soil conditions.
Leveled Footings
An additional layer of concrete was poured over the reinforced footing to establish a level and stable surface for the placement of SmartJack® support posts. This finishing layer ensures proper load distribution and alignment, contributing to the overall effectiveness and longevity of the foundation stabilization system.
SmartJacks Lifting and Leveling Floors
The SmartJack® base plates were securely anchored to the prepared concrete footings and subsequently embedded into the foundation floor to ensure maximum stability. As an adjustable support system, SmartJack® allows for precise elevation adjustments, enabling targeted lifting of the main support beams. This process effectively restores the floor joists to their intended position and provides permanent structural stabilization.
