Cracking Foundation Wall
The fieldstone foundation wall had undergone progressive deterioration, resulting in structural cracking and inward displacement of the wall.
PowerBraces
PowerBraces consist of high-strength steel I-beams that are mechanically anchored to both the floor framing system (joists) and the foundation slab. While this system is effective at stabilizing the wall and arresting further inward movement, the advanced deterioration of the fieldstone foundation necessitated additional reinforcement measures to ensure long-term structural integrity.
Rebar in Auxiliary Wall
Reinforcing steel (rebar) was interlaced through the PowerBraces to significantly increase the structural capacity of the auxiliary wall, allowing it to effectively integrate with the concrete pour and provide enhanced long-term reinforcement.
Auxiliary Wall Forms
Formwork was constructed to precisely define and contain the geometry of the auxiliary wall during concrete placement, ensuring proper shape, alignment, and consolidation of the pour.
Auxiliary Wall Wooden Supports
Temporary wooden bracing was installed to provide additional structural support during the concrete placement process, ensuring the formwork maintained its integrity, alignment, and dimensional stability under the load of the fresh concrete.
Auxiliary Wall
Concrete was carefully placed and properly consolidated and leveled to ensure uniformity and structural consistency. Following the curing period, the formwork was removed, exposing the completed StableLock auxiliary wall installation. The garage foundation wall is now effectively stabilized, with improved structural integrity and long-term performance.
