Sunken Precast Stairs
The previous precast stair assembly had undergone considerable settlement, creating a non-compliant transition between the entrance doorway and stair landing. To restore safe access and ensure code compliance, the stairs required immediate replacement and elevation correction.
Riser Forms
Formwork was constructed to support the installation of a reinforced concrete riser beneath the precast stair system. Reinforcing steel was mechanically tied into the existing foundation wall and extended throughout the new pour area to provide structural continuity and enhance the strength and long-term stability of the riser.
Concrete Riser
The new concrete riser was successfully poured, creating a durable and precisely leveled support structure for the precast stairs. This restored the proper entrance elevation and provided a reliable foundation resistant to future settlement.
Precast Stairs
Following the completion of the riser, the new precast stairs were set in place and secured on the prepared bearing surface. Guardrails were installed in accordance with applicable safety requirements, resulting in a structurally sound, code-compliant, and aesthetically improved entrance system.
