Inward Bowing Foundation Wall
The foundation wall had begun to bow inward, resulting in horizontal and stair-step cracking-clear indicators of structural movement and compromised wall integrity. To facilitate a successful home sale and protect the property's value, the homeowners recognized the importance of addressing the foundation issue before listing the home.
Power Braces
PowerBraces™ are high-strength galvanized steel I-beams engineered to stabilize bowing foundation walls by counteracting lateral soil pressure. Each brace is securely anchored to the basement floor and mechanically connected to the floor framing above, preventing further inward movement and providing long-term structural support. To maintain compatibility with the WaterGuard® perimeter drainage system, the standard base was replaced with a specialized drainage-friendly bracket that allows water to flow unobstructed into the system.
Basement Waterproofing
WaterGuard® is an engineered interior perimeter drainage system designed to intercept groundwater seepage at the foundation perimeter before it can enter the basement living space. The system collects and channels water through a concealed drainage pathway to the SuperSump® pump system, which efficiently discharges the collected water away from the home, helping to maintain a dry and protected basement environment.
Rusted Window and Well
The existing basement window and window well were constructed of metal and had experienced significant corrosion over time. As the materials deteriorated, the window assembly became increasingly vulnerable to water intrusion while also detracting from the home's overall appearance and curb appeal.
New Basement Window and Well
The basement window was replaced and upgraded with a SunHouse® window well and cover system. Designed to maximize natural light, the SunHouse® well features a reflective finish that brightens the basement environment while the durable cover helps prevent leaves, debris, and precipitation from accumulating in the well.
