Temporary Support Column Failing to Stabilize Floor
The existing temporary support post lacked the structural capacity required to adequately stabilize the floor system, resulting in continued settlement and noticeable floor deflection. A more comprehensive stabilization solution was necessary to restore structural integrity and eliminate excessive floor bounce.
Concrete and Soil Removal for Footings
Concrete and underlying soils were excavated to create a footing excavation approximately 2 feet in width and depth, providing adequate bearing capacity for the installation of reinforced concrete footings.
Footings with Rebar
A reinforced rebar grid was incorporated into the footings to enhance their structural strength, improve load distribution, and increase resistance to cracking and settlement.
SmartJack Base Secured on Leveled Footing
The footing was carefully leveled to provide a stable and uniform bearing surface. Once the concrete achieved sufficient cure strength, the SmartJack base was installed and securely anchored to the footing to ensure proper load transfer and long-term structural stability.
SmartJack Secured to Main Floor System
The SmartJack support system is constructed from heavy-duty galvanized steel, providing exceptional durability and corrosion resistance for long-term performance. Its fully adjustable top bracket allows for precise elevation and load-bearing adjustments, enabling the floor system to be accurately stabilized and, where appropriate, restored toward its original position. Once properly adjusted, the SmartJack system delivers reliable, permanent support that minimizes floor deflection and eliminates excessive floor bounce, ensuring long-term structural stability.
SmartJacks Cemented into Foundation Floor
Following installation, the SmartJack support columns were anchored to their reinforced concrete footings and encapsulated within the foundation floor, creating a rigid and dependable structural support system capable of providing long-term stabilization and load-bearing performance.
