Failing Basement Support Posts
Over time, the existing support posts lost their ability to adequately support the floors above, resulting in sagging, uneven floors, and reduced structural stability.
Support Post Detached from Main Beam
During our inspection, we discovered that the existing support post had become disconnected from the main beam, compromising the structural load path. As a result, the floor joists were no longer receiving adequate support and began to deflect under the weight of the floors above.
Concrete and Soil Removal for Footings
To ensure long-term structural performance, portions of the tile flooring, concrete slab, and subgrade material were removed and excavated to the proper depth, allowing for the construction of engineered footings to support the SmartJack system.
Footings with Rebar
A reinforced rebar grid was fabricated and incorporated into the footings to enhance their load-bearing capacity, structural integrity, and long-term durability.
SmartJack Footing
High-strength concrete was poured over the reinforced rebar grid to create durable, load-bearing footings that provide a solid foundation for the installation and long-term performance of the SmartJack system.
SmartJack Installed to Main Beam
The SmartJack support posts were installed beneath the main beam and precisely adjusted to restore proper elevation to the floor system, helping to reduce sagging and improve overall floor levelness.
SmartJack Base
The SmartJack support post was installed plumb beneath the main beam and securely anchored to the footing, ensuring proper load transfer and long-term structural stability.
SmartJack Concreted into Foundation Floor
Following installation and final adjustment, the SmartJack system was encapsulated with concrete and the floor surface was restored to grade, providing a clean, finished appearance while maintaining full structural functionality.
