Wall Deflection
The foundation wall exhibited up to two inches of inward deflection, indicating significant lateral pressure. Addressing this structural movement was critical to prevent further displacement and to preserve the long-term integrity and load-bearing capacity of the foundation.
GeoLock Rods
GeoLock® Wall Anchors were installed by drilling anchor rods laterally from the interior of the foundation wall to a pre-excavated trench located at a stable point in the yard
GeoLock Anchors
Once the anchor rods are extended to the designated trench area, GeoLock® wall anchors are affixed to the exterior ends and embedded into stable, undisturbed soil. This anchoring method provides a secure counterforce to lateral wall movement, effectively stabilizing the foundation and preventing further deflection.
GeoLock Plates
GeoLock® wall anchor plates are mounted to the interior ends of the anchor rods and incrementally tightened to apply corrective pressure. This process not only stabilizes the foundation wall against further bowing but can also gradually restore it toward its original position, enhancing overall structural integrity.
GeoLock Backfill
Upon completion of the GeoLock® installation, the excavated area was carefully backfilled to restore the landscape. As part of the process, a plum tree and a peach tree were temporarily relocated to allow for proper trenching. Our crew took deliberate care to replant both trees correctly, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and promoting healthy reestablishment.
