Failing Basement Supports
The existing wooden support posts and temporary lally columns lacked the structural capacity to properly transfer loads, resulting in insufficient support and causing the floors above to sag over time.
Footing Excavation with Rebar
Portions of the foundation slab were excavated to install engineered concrete footings designed to distribute the load from the SmartJacks®. Each footing was reinforced with steel rebar to enhance structural integrity and prevent settlement under concentrated loads.
SmartJack Footings
High-strength concrete was poured into the excavated sections to form structural footings, ensuring proper load distribution for the SmartJacks®. The surface was carefully leveled to provide a stable and uniform base for installation.
SmartJacks Installed to Main Beam
SmartJacks® were installed on the reinforced concrete footings and precisely adjusted to engage the main support beam. This engineered, adjustable system transfers load effectively, allowing the beam to strengthen the floor joists and restore structural stability by lifting the floors back toward their original position.
SmartJacks Concreted into Foundation Floor
The SmartJacks® were permanently secured by encasing their bases in high-strength concrete within the foundation slab, creating a rigid connection that enhances stability and ensures long-term durability under load.
