Radon Extraction Point
An extraction point was created in the foundation floor to depressurize the sub-slab area. PVC piping was then installed at this extraction point to safely channel radon gas from underneath the home, preventing exposure to the living spaces. The PVC pipe was subsequently routed to the exterior of the home.
Additional Radon Extraction Point
Given the elevated radon levels in the home, an additional extraction point was required to ensure radon concentrations were reduced below the Environmental Protection Agency's safety threshold and minimized as much as possible.
Radon Fan
The radon fan was installed on the exterior of the home, effectively drawing radon from the soil beneath the foundation. PVC piping extends from the radon fan and surpasses the roofline, ensuring the safe expulsion of radon gas away from any potential entry points into the home.
Additional Radon Fan
A second radon fan was installed to the additional extraction point. The installation process was the same as the first radon fan.
Radon Manometer
The radon manometer offers a visual confirmation of the radon fan's efficient operation. In the exceedingly rare event that the system malfunctions, an alarm will activate, alerting the homeowner to inspect the radon mitigation system.
