Radon Extraction Point
An extraction point was established through the basement floor foundation to access the underlying soil. A PVC pipe was installed at this extraction point to facilitate the safe removal of radon from beneath the home, thereby effectively preventing its infiltration into the living spaces.
Radon PVC Pipe
The PVC pipe connected to the extraction point was securely anchored to the foundation walls to ensure the safe removal of radon.
Additional Radon Extraction Point
Given the elevated radon levels, an additional extraction point was necessary to ensure compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's safety standards and to minimize radon concentrations as effectively as possible. The PVC pipe was integrated and subsequently routed out of the basement through the home's siding.
Radon Fan
Upon reaching the exterior of the home, the PVC pipe was fitted with a radon fan. This fan actively extracts radon from beneath the home's foundation and expels it safely above the roofline. This process effectively mitigates radon gas, ensuring reliable protection for the home.
Radon Manometer
The radon manometer verifies the proper operation of the radon fan, offering a visual indication that the radon mitigation system is functioning efficiently.
