Sunken and cracked concrete around your home is not only an eyesore but is also a safety hazard. As time goes by, if the problem isn’t corrected, it will only get worse. However, you have no reason to fret when you have the professionals at Erickson Foundation Solutions doing the work. Our experts use PolyLevel, a strong, and durable foam material to lift your concrete slabs back into place. We drill small holes into the slab where the foam is injected and expands, raising the concrete into place. Many other contractors will use mudjacking, but our method doesn’t disturb the area, takes less drying time, and is more affordable.

Our SealantPro concrete sealant bonds with concrete on a molecular level to protect slabs against oil, gasoline, water, debris, and more. Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Get in contact with us now to learn how to protect your loved ones from the harmful effects of radon gas.

Job Stories From Littleton, MA
Egress Window Improvement, Littleton, MA

Joanne and her husband were experiencing leaks through their egress windows in their basement. This resulted in water puddling on the basement floor whenever there were heavy rains. This retired couple wanted to have total peace of mind that their forever home was safe, secure, and hassle free.

After being referred to us, one of our Design Specialists came out to do an inspection of the home. We proposed an installation of our SunHouse Window Well and Covers to prevent dirt and debris from occupying the space and to bring more light into the basement. We also recommended sealing the cracks in the window area with FlexiSpan, a waterproofing sealant that molds to wall movement.

Our Installation Specialists completed the job and then took the time to carefully put back the decorative stone and edging surrounding the egress windows. These two were very happy with the final result.

Concrete Slab and Walkway Lifting, Littleton, MA

Concrete slabs will sink and settle when the soil beneath them erodes away  with rain water. With the concrete no longer supported, it will sink into the voids, cause cracking on the top side, and leave unsafe trip hazards on the surface. For this homeowner in Littleton, MA, these were these exact concerns they were facing in two separate locations on their property.

First, the concrete walkway leading from their driveway up to their front door had become uneven due to settlement. The walkway was poured with 7 cold joints installed, essentially making the concrete 8 separate smaller slabs. Each slab had shifted or settled a little over the years, creating a walkway that looked uneven and developed some trip hazards. To address these concerns, our team injected PolyLevel beneath each individual slab section to either lift it as needed, or to simply stabilize it against future settlement concerns. The polymer foam injection process was convenient and cost effective for the homeowner, as no demolition or replacement of any concrete was required in order to repair their entire walkway.

Once the walkway repairs were completed, our team moved to the back of the home where the homeowner had a slab that had settled 5 inches outside one of their garage bays. Inside the overhead area, the homeowner parked their lawn mower. In order to get the lawn mower out to cut the grass, they had to either let the machine drop down 5 inches and risk damaging it, or setup a temporary ramp to drive down. PolyLevel turned out to be the ideal solution for them.

To begin the lift and level process, our specialists first used a slab jack system which enabled them to loosed the concrete slab and lift it slightly out of the soils beneath it. This extra step helps them to protect the concrete from any unwanted cracks from forming due to binding or adhesion to the soils. Once the slab was loose, they inject their PolyLevel into the void beneath the concrete, and watched as the slab lifted up the entire 5 inches back to it's originally installed location. The transition from the over head garage floor to the exterior slab was now less than half an inch, and the homeowner could now easily drive their lawn mower out in a safe way.

The owner was thrilled with the results and expressed how they thought the repairs came out better than they expected. Their front walkway was now even and stabilized, and the slab that had settled 5 inches was raised and level with their garage floor. All of their concerns were addressed and fixed, and PolyLevel saved them time and money.

Crack in Basement Allowing Water In, Littleton, MA

A homeowner in Littleton, Massachusetts, had noticed a crack in their basement. The home was built in 2017 and the homeowners noticed the crack, which was allowing water into the basement, in 2021. They wanted to make sure the crack wasn't causing structural damage so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection. Our design specialist recommended installing FlexiSpan to the crack in the foundation.

Our production team began by chipping out the concrete at the bottom of the crack to create a drainage area. Next, the team covered the crack with the membrane of the FlexiSpan. This membrane will keep water from coming into the basement and guide it down the length of the crack to the bottom to drain under the home. Once the membrane was set over the crack the team made sure the drainage was set. Once they ensured the drainage was set the team then poured concrete over the drain to give the FlexiSpan a clean look.

The homeowners were happy that the crack was covered and water can't enter the basement anymore.

SmartJacks Installation, Littleton, MA

A home in Littleton, Massachusetts, was recently purchased by a new homeowner. The new homeowner had noticed a floor leak in the basement. They would like to have some waterproofing installed along with some support posts. Our design specialist recommended a solution. The solution was to install SmartJacks with a supplemental beam and WaterGuard leading to an existing sump pump.

Our production team installed 8 SmartJacks with 28 feet of Supplemental beam, then they installed 22 feet of WaterGuard leading to an existing sump pump.

Sinking Basement Slab, Littleton, MA

This homeowner in Littleton, Massachusetts was experiencing their basement slab sinking. The homeowners decided to call Erickson Foundation Solutions about a free inspection.

Design Specialist Chris Greenwood came out to the home and inspected the slab in the basement and found that some areas on the slab had sunk up to 2-1/2". Chris recommended that the homeowners have PolyLevel injected under their slab. The homeowners were very interested in the immediate fix but were reluctant at first because to inject PolyLevel under the slab they would have to rip up the floor that sits above the slab. Chris reinforced that this is the only way to fix the slab without ripping it up and pouring a new one. The homeowner finally agreed to rip up the flooring in the basement and the EFS team was able to start repairing the slab.

Crew Lead Nick Melo and Installation Specialist Tyler Oslizlo came to the home and injected PolyLevel through small portholes drilled into the slab. The team was able to lift the slab back to level.
