This homeowner in Taunton, MA reached out to our team at Erickson Foundation Solutions to see if we could find a solution for some sunken concrete they noticed around their pool deck area. The area in question was about 24' x 48' which was broken up into multiple slabs poured around the inground pool. Some of the slabs were uneven, and some trip hazards had formed. Other sections were a little out of level, and causing water to flow the wrong direction or allowing it to pool up. Overall, the homeowner wanted a solution to level out the concrete as much as possible, as well as seal the joints and cracks on the surface.
Our concrete repair specialists showed up on the scheduled day for installation, and injected roughly 70lbs of PolyLevel beneath the sunken sections of concrete. They then injected foam into another 785 sq. ft. of concrete in order to stabilize the slabs and prevent any future settlement concerns. Once all the slab jacking and stabilization was completed, the next phase involved sealing all the joints and cracks with NexusPro. This patented silicone based caulking is designed for exterior concrete surfaces, and so was the ideal solution for the repairs.
When the job was completed, most of the concrete was leveled out and stabilized, while some other areas did not quite even out due to underlying issues. But with the tripping hazards repaired, and the concrete protected against future settlement concerns, this pool deck is in good shape for years to come.
