A resident of Center Harbor, New Hampshire inherited their father's house, only to discover a crack in the foundation wall that was causing water to leak into the basement. The water was pooling on the floor, and as the homeowner planned to sell the property, they wanted to ensure the crack was sealed for the future buyer. Seeking a solution, the homeowner contacted EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist, Jason Vachon, assessed the basement and recommended an effective solution to prevent water entry. The solution involved installing 24' of WaterGuard, a SuperSump, FlexiSpan, IceGuard, and an Exterior Drainage Line.
Our skilled Installation Team, led by Branden Edwards, began by chipping out concrete on the foundation wall at the back of the house. A 6-inch wide trench was exposed, stretching 24' feet from the basement corner to the foundation crack. The team then installed the FlexiSpan over the foundation crack, followed by the SuperSump and WaterGuard against the foundation wall. This system would collect and pump out any water that entered the basement. The drainage system was integrated into the sump pump and plumbed into the exterior of the house. An IceGuard and Exterior Drainage Line was installed to carry water away from the foundation. After testing the system, the team poured concrete over the WaterGuard and SuperSump to secure them in place.
The homeowner was delighted with the outcome, as the basement was no longer leaking. With the issue resolved, they were able to proceed with the sale of their home.
