This homeowner in Sudbury, Massachusetts, purchased their home in 2019. Their home was built in 1944 and when the home was purchased the home inspector noted the vapor barrier should be replaced inside the crawlspace. The homeowner didn't have the money when they purchased the home, so they waited a couple of years until they had the funds for a repair. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their crawlspace. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners and talked about the concerns they have inside their crawlspace. We inspected the crawlspace and confirmed that the old vapor barrier needed to be replaced, but we also recommended replacing the supports to stabilize the aging floor system.
Our Installation Team led by Eric Witham began by removing the old vapor barrier. After that was removed, we installed two SmartJacks in the crawlspace into the crawlspace to stabilize the floor system. After the new supports were installed, we then encapsulated the entire crawlspace with CleanSpace.
The homeowners were very impressed with the installation of the CleanSpace and SmartJacks into their crawlspace.
A homeowner in Sudbury, Massachusetts, purchased the land and built their home in 1973. They have lived in the home for 50 years. About a decade ago they noticed water beginning to collect on the basement floors after periods of rain and melt. They have got tired of cleaning up the water that collects on the floor of the basement so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist Keith Soper met with the homeowner and inspected the basement. After Keith's inspection, he recommended installing 16 feet of WaterGuard, SuperSump, and an IceGuard into the basement.
Our Installation Team led by Steve Dumais began by chipping out concrete along the perimeter of the basement where we are installing the perimeter drainage and sump pump. We chipped out a 6-inch wide trench for the WaterGuard and a hole in the concrete that would fit our sump pump basin. After the concrete was cleared, the team then removed dirt so we could install the perimeter drainage under the slab and install our basin flush with the concrete. Next, the team started to plumb the sump pump to the exterior of the home where we can install the IceGuard and drainage line to carry water away from the foundation wall. After that, the team returned back into the basement to complete setting up the sump pump and to mix up concrete to pour over the WaterGuard and around the basin of the sump pump. After the concrete cured the homeowner could return to having items over where the WaterGuard was installed.
The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project and haven't seen water in their basement since EFS installed the system.
