Broken Sump Pump
The existing sump pump was no longer capable of effectively capturing incoming water or discharging it out of the home, leaving the basement vulnerable to moisture and potential damage. For a basement-especially a finished one-to remain dry and protected, it is crucial to have a dependable, high‑performance sump pump system designed to handle varying levels of groundwater intrusion.
Moldy Finished Basement
Prolonged water intrusion resulted in extensive mold growth and wood rot throughout the basement. This deterioration compromised structural materials such as flooring and drywall, ultimately rendering the finished basement unsafe and unusable.
Basement Drainage System
To begin the installation, our crew removed a narrow section of concrete along the full perimeter of the basement to create space for the WaterGuard® drainage system. WaterGuard® is installed at the footing level, beneath the slab, where it intercepts groundwater and wall seepage before it can enter the livable space. Once collected, the water is directed through the drainage channel and routed to the sump pump system for reliable discharge out of the home.
Basement Surface Drainage
In certain areas of a basement, WaterGuard® cannot be installed due to immovable utilities-such as this oil tank-that prevent trenching along the footing. In these situations, we integrate TrenchDrain™, a surface‑level drainage component designed to capture and redirect water from otherwise inaccessible sections. By tying the TrenchDrain™ into the WaterGuard® system, we maintain a continuous, uninterrupted drainage path that ensures all collected water is effectively routed to the sump pump for removal.
Sump Pump with Battery Backup
The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System is engineered to be the most dependable groundwater management solution available. It incorporates a primary pump for standard operation, a high‑capacity secondary pump that activates during periods of elevated water intrusion, and a battery‑powered backup pump that ensures continued performance during power outages or mechanical failure. This three‑tiered configuration provides continuous, reliable water removal under all conditions. With the homeowners preparing to refinish their basement, the TripleSafe™ system delivers unmatched peace of mind-ensuring the space remains protected from moisture, flooding, and future water‑related concerns.
Water Removal Failsafe
Water collected by the basement drainage system is expelled from the home through a dedicated discharge line. To safeguard this discharge path, an IceGuard® attachment is installed on the exterior portion of the line. IceGuard® functions as a failsafe: if the discharge line becomes clogged or freezes during cold weather, the system automatically vents water through specially engineered openings. This ensures continuous water removal from the basement, preventing backups and maintaining a consistently dry environment.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot is installed at the termination point of the discharge line to disperse water safely and efficiently into the surrounding soil. Once connected, the discharge line is fully buried below grade, maintaining effective drainage while preserving the clean, unobstructed appearance of the homeowner's lawn.
Basement Dehumidifier
The SaniDry™ XP was installed in the basement to maintain optimal humidity levels and prevent moisture‑related issues. Given the homeowner's previous concerns with mold, the SaniDry™ XP provides a significant improvement in indoor air quality by continuously filtering and dehumidifying the air throughout the basement-and, by extension, the rest of the home. By keeping relative humidity consistently below mold‑growth thresholds, the system helps protect building materials, reduce odors, and ensure a healthier living environment.
