A homeowner from Belmont, Massachusetts has a finished basement that kept leaking. This has caused mold and other undesirable affects. The homeowner wants to create a livable space for family members to use. In order to achieve this, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
One of our Design Specialists, Scott Ruisi, came out to the home to complete a free home inspection. Within 90 minutes, Scott diagnosed the issues with the basement and proposed solutions that met the homeowner's expectations. He ultimately recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This waterproofing system collects water at the perimeter of the foundation before entering the basement, filtering it to the sump pump, and then expelling it from the home through a drainage line. The dehumidifier removes moisture from the air, thus eliminating mold spores and other toxins, which creates better air quality. Our installation crew chipped out the perimeter of the basement floor and wall to make space for the WaterGuard system. Once space was made, WaterGuard was laid in place on top of crushed stone. TrenchDrain is used in areas where WaterGuard in inaccessible. These two systems connect to each other, forming a path that allows water to flow to the sump pump. A basin was created for the sump pump to sit in and collect the water. Once the drainage system was connected to the sump pump, everything was cemented in place. The exterior drainage line was then added to the sump pump.
Our installation crew made sure to keep the space neat and tidy. Once the job was complete, they gave the homeowner a walkthrough of their new waterproofing system. They were thrilled with the result.

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire had been experiencing leaks in her basement. One area that the homeowner was particularly concerned about was the water heater. Looking for a way to keep the basement permanently dry, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, John Prince, conducted a free inspection of the home. After discussion with the homeowner, John recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchDrain surface drainage, and TripleSafe sump pump system. This system captures water at the perimeter of the basement and delivers it to the sump pump, where it is then pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. When there are areas where WaterGuard is inaccessible, TrenchDrain is installed to continue the flow of water to the sump pump. The TrenchDrain system connects to the WaterGuard system, as can be seen in the after photo.
Once all these systems are installed, they are cemented in place. This homeowner now has peace of mind that her basement will stay dry!

A homeowner in Nashua, New Hampshire has lived in his home for over 40 years. Several years ago, he noticed that his basement would leak. In order to fix this, he had a sump pump installed. This pump isn't working as it was intended to, resulting in the basement flooding. Looking for a permanent solution keep his basement dry; he reached out to our Erickson team.
Our Design Specialist, John Prince, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, SuperSump sump pump, and FlexiSpan crack sealant. Our crew started installing this waterproofing system by chipping our concrete along the border of the basement floor to make space for the WaterGuard drainage. This system captures water at the perimeter of the basement before being exposed to the walls or floor. The water collected then flows to our SuperSump sump pump. A new basin was created for the sump pump to sit in since the previous basin was not in the ideal spot. A feed line was installed connecting the old basin to the new basin in order to allow the new sump system to pump out the unwanted water. Once these systems were installed, they were cemented in place. An exterior discharge line was then installed to the sump pump to direct water safely out of the home. IceGuard was installed to the discharge line to prevent the pipe from freezing, which prevents sump pumps from backing up and flooding. Lastly, FlexiSpan crack sealant was used to seal a large crack in the basement wall. This sealant stops water from making its way through the crack, and is able to adjust to settlement, making it a long-lasting solution.
With the job now complete, crew lead Ryan Champagne went over a final walkthrough with the homeowner. He was thrilled that he would never have to deal with the annoying cleanup process again!

Homeowners in Pelham, New Hampshire had recently experienced multiple basement floods once snow started melting. The previous sump pump that was installed in their home was unable to keep up with the high volume of water surrounding the foundation. With plans to finish the basement in the future, these homeowners know they had to waterproof the basement in order to protect their investment.
Design Specialist, Josh Bartholomew, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and a TripleSafe sump pump system. The WaterGuard system is installed around the perimeter of the basement and collects water from the wet soil surrounding the basement before being exposed to the basement walls and floor. WaterGuard then distributes that water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe guarantees that unwanted water will always get pumped out of the home. The three-pump system has a pump for standard water levels, high water levels, and an emergency battery-powered backup pump.
After installing these systems, our installation crew performed a final walkthrough with the homeowners. They were extremely happy with the final result!

The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System provides three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. In case of a power outage, our UltraSump® battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level, will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery!
The ⅓ hp primary pump can discharge 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head, while the ½ hp secondary pump can discharge as much as 3,900 additional gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head. In the case of a tripped circuit, power outage, or sump failure, your TripleSafe™'s UltraSump® Battery Backup System will kick in. A second battery can be hooked up to a single system for an even longer running time. All told, this system provides the ultimate protection for homeowners who have had issues with water in their basement.
The same weather that can flood your basement can also knock out the power to your primary AC powered sump pump. That's why we created the UltraSump 4 powerpack system, which assures continuous protection. In the event your primary AC system loses power, your battery backup system will engage and begin removing water from your basement. The UltraSump 4 can pump out up to 12,000 gallons of water on a fully charged battery, which is enough to fill a swimming pool!
Our newest system features include illuminated plugs, battery-operated emergency LED lights, a resettable fuse, and is compatible with the TimeMachine data logger, which gives you instant access to real-time data about your system.
For an effective and more economical solution, consider our SuperSump® Premier Pump System. It is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump® includes a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The SuperSump® can also be installed with an optional UltraSump® Battery Backup Sump Pump, which can pump out 11,500 gallons or more on a single charge!
If you have had occasional water issues but not a severe flood, the SuperSump® may be the ideal option for your home. This complete system provides total protection, and like all of our sump pump systems, works perfectly with our drainage systems.

Our sump pump systems include the following features:
WaterWatch® Alarm: Sounds off to let you know if water has risen past the point where the pumps should have turned on.
SuperLiner Sump Liner: Large enough to keep your sump pump working properly without turning on and off repeatedly, but not so large that your liner goes too deep, making your sump pump wear out prematurely as it pumps out unnecessary water.
Airtight Sump Lid: An airtight lid keeps odors and humidity out while protecting your sump from debris from the basement floor. Rubber grommets around all pipes and wires help maintain the airtight lid and also help to keep all PVC pipes steady and quiet.
CleanPump Stands: These sump pump stands are installed to raise the pumps off of the bottom of the liner. Any silt or sediment that settles on the bottom of your sump pit will be kept away from your pump. These stands also allow for height adjustment of the pump if necessary.
IceGuard® Discharge Line Protection: Many sump pump discharge lines are susceptible to freezing during the cold winter months. Our IceGuard® discharge line protector is the solution to this problem! This specifically designed grated adapter is located outside where the discharge line exits the house. If the pipe underground freezes in the winter, water can still be pumped out without the worry of backups into your basement! *Note: The IceGuard® does not come standard with our sump pump systems.
Sump pumps should always be installed with a perimeter drain system to ensure that all water is drained to the sump pit and removed from the basement.
