Flooded Basement
The homeowner experienced water intrusion through the foundation walls, resulting in standing water on the basement floor and rendering the space unusable. Visible mold growth and efflorescence along the walls indicated ongoing moisture issues and raised concerns about the home's overall indoor air quality.
Failing Sump Pump
The existing sump pump system proved insufficient, as it was unable to effectively capture and discharge the volume of water entering the basement. Due to its limited capacity and inadequate water collection design, a more advanced and comprehensive waterproofing system was required to ensure long‑term moisture control and maintain a consistently dry basement environment.
WaterGuard
The WaterGuard® interior drainage system was installed along the full perimeter of the basement to intercept groundwater seepage before it enters the living space. The collected water is directed through the WaterGuard® channel to the sump pump system for efficient discharge. This drainage system is positioned on top of the foundation footing and is subsequently encased in concrete, leaving a clean, flush finish that integrates seamlessly with the existing basement floor.
TrenchDrain
Our TrenchDrain™ surface drainage system was installed around the fixed utilities along the foundation wall. Because these utilities could not be relocated, a surface‑level collection method was required to capture any water that travels across the basement floor. The TrenchDrain™ system intercepts this surface water and integrates seamlessly with the WaterGuard® perimeter drain, creating a unified drainage pathway that directs all collected water to the sump pump for proper discharge.
TripleSafe Sump Pump and SaniDry Dehumidifier
The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System provides maximum reliability through its three‑pump configuration, consisting of a primary pump, a high‑capacity secondary pump, and a battery‑operated backup pump to ensure continuous water removal even during power outages or high‑demand conditions. Its sealed, airtight sump liner prevents moisture and humidity from escaping into the basement environment, contributing to improved air quality and overall system efficiency. To further control humidity and prevent mold growth, the SaniDry™ XP dehumidification system was installed. This high‑performance unit automatically drains collected moisture directly into the sump system, creating a fully integrated and maintenance‑free moisture management process.
IceGuard
Water collected by the sump system is discharged from the home through an exterior drainage line. To protect against potential blockages caused by freezing or debris, an IceGuard® discharge line protection device was installed. IceGuard® is engineered with fail‑safe overflow ports that allow water to escape safely outside the home if the discharge line becomes frozen or obstructed. This safeguard prevents pressure buildup within the system, reducing the risk of sump overflow and subsequent water intrusion into the basement.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot was installed at the termination point of the discharge line to allow expelled water to disperse efficiently into the surrounding soil, reducing the likelihood of surface pooling or lawn saturation. The discharge line was then buried to maintain the yard's appearance and protect the system from surface damage, ensuring both functionality and curb appeal.
PowerBraces
The PowerBrace™ system was installed along the interior of the block foundation wall, which exhibited an inward deflection of approximately 1.5 inches. These heavy‑duty, galvanized steel I‑beams were anchored securely to the floor joists above and set against the footing below, then encased in concrete for enhanced stability. This engineered system is designed to immediately halt further lateral movement, providing long‑term structural reinforcement and restoring stability to the compromised foundation wall.
