The previously installed sump pump was a makeshift setup consisting of a standalone pump placed in an unlined pit in the basement floor. This rudimentary configuration lacked proper water collection and discharge capabilities, making it ineffective at preventing water from entering the basement. To ensure long‑term protection of the space and the homeowner's stored belongings, a more robust and professionally engineered waterproofing system was required.
WaterGuard Drainage System
WaterGuard® was installed along the interior perimeter of the basement to capture groundwater seepage before it can infiltrate the living space. Installation involves carefully removing a section of the concrete floor to expose the foundation footing, positioning the drainage channel atop the footing within a bed of washed stone, and performing a flood test to confirm proper flow toward the sump pump. Once verified, the system is encased in new concrete, creating a clean, flush finish while providing reliable, long‑term drainage performance.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System features a three‑pump configuration housed within a sealed, airtight liner to ensure maximum protection against water intrusion. This system includes a battery‑powered backup pump that provides continuous water removal during power outages or primary pump failure. The WaterGuard® perimeter drainage system integrates directly with the TripleSafe™ liner, efficiently channeling collected water into the system for immediate and reliable discharge from the basement.
IceGuard
Water collected in the basement is discharged through an exterior drainage line. To safeguard the system during freezing temperatures, an IceGuard® discharge line protection device was installed. Its engineered overflow ports allow water to safely escape if the line becomes frozen or obstructed, preventing backup and sump overflow. At the termination point of the discharge line, a bubbler pot was installed to disperse the discharged water into the surrounding soil more effectively, minimizing surface puddling and maintaining yard aesthetics.
SaniDry XP Dehumidifier
The SaniDry™ XP is engineered specifically for below‑grade environments, delivering powerful dehumidification to maintain low humidity levels and support healthier air quality throughout the home. The moisture it extracts is automatically discharged into the WaterGuard® system, creating a fully integrated, maintenance‑free drainage process that enhances overall basement protection.
