Wet Finished Basement
The finished basement served as a dedicated playroom for the homeowner's child, making a dry and healthy environment a top priority. As shown in the photo, water intrusion caused damage to the finished flooring and drywall, requiring their removal. In addition to the structural damage, prolonged moisture created conditions conducive to mold growth, raising concerns about indoor air quality and safety. The homeowner sought a comprehensive waterproofing solution to permanently control water intrusion and maintain a dry, safe, and usable living space for their family.
WaterGuard
Our WaterGuard® perimeter drainage system was strategically installed beneath the basement floor slab along the foundation perimeter. Designed to intercept groundwater seepage at its point of entry, the system efficiently captures and redirects water to a dedicated sump pump system for discharge, preventing moisture intrusion and protecting the basement from future water damage. This approach provides long-term basement waterproofing while helping maintain a dry, healthy, and usable living space.
Bulkhead Waterproofing
Bulkhead entryways are a common source of basement water intrusion due to their exposure to surface runoff and groundwater. To ensure continuous protection in this vulnerable area, the existing bulkhead stairs were carefully removed, allowing for the installation of the WaterGuard® drainage system along the interior foundation perimeter. Once the drainage system was properly integrated into the waterproofing design, the stairs were reinstalled, restoring full functionality while providing reliable, long-term water management and basement protection.
TrenchDrain
The TrenchDrain™ surface drainage system was installed to effectively manage water in areas where permanent basement utilities, such as this oil tank, prevented the installation of an interior perimeter drainage system. Designed to capture water at the floor surface, TrenchDrain intercepts and redirects water into the WaterGuard® system, where it seamlessly integrates with the interior drainage network. Together, these systems create a continuous pathway that channels water efficiently to the sump pump for removal, ensuring comprehensive basement water management and protection against future moisture intrusion.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System provides three levels of protection to ensure reliable basement waterproofing under a wide range of conditions. The system features a primary pump for everyday water management, a secondary high-capacity pump that automatically activates during periods of elevated groundwater infiltration, and a battery-powered backup pump that continues to operate during power outages. Each pump is designed to engage based on the water level and inflow rate within the sump liner, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted water removal. Collected water is then discharged safely away from the home through a dedicated discharge line, helping to maintain a dry and protected basement environment year-round.
