Basement Water Seepage
Hydrostatic pressure from water-saturated soil forced moisture through the basement wall, resulting in visible water intrusion. The homeowner was understandably concerned that continued exposure could compromise basement utilities and lead to costly damage.
WaterGuard
To prepare for the installation of the WaterGuard® drainage system, a section of concrete was removed around the basement perimeter at the wall-floor joint. The WaterGuard system is designed to intercept groundwater at the foundation footing level, capturing seepage before it reaches the basement interior. Collected water is then efficiently directed to the sump pump system, where it is safely discharged away from the home.
WaterGuard Cemented into Floor
Following installation, the WaterGuard® drainage system underwent a comprehensive flood test to verify proper water collection and flow to the discharge point. Once system performance was confirmed, the drainage channel was encapsulated with concrete and finished flush with the existing basement floor to restore a clean, seamless appearance. Strategic service ports were incorporated into the system design, allowing technicians to access and inspect the interior drainage channel for routine maintenance and long-term performance assurance.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System features three independently operating pumps engineered to manage varying volumes of groundwater intrusion. Its multi-pump design provides exceptional reliability during both routine and high-water conditions, while the battery-powered backup pump ensures continuous protection and water removal capabilities during power outages, helping safeguard the basement around the clock.
Discharge Line
Groundwater collected by the sump pump system is discharged safely away from the home through a dedicated discharge line. An IceGuard® fitting is incorporated into the discharge system to provide a secondary escape route for water in the event the discharge line becomes frozen or obstructed, preventing system backups and reducing the risk of water overflowing into the basement. At the end of the discharge line, a LawnScape™ outlet (bubbler pot) is installed to promote controlled dispersion of water into the surrounding soil, minimizing surface saturation and helping protect the lawn from erosion or standing water. The discharge line is then buried below grade whenever possible to preserve the property's appearance and maintain the integrity of the landscaping.
