Failing Sump Pump
The homeowner was dealing with a persistently high water table and a failing sump pump system, resulting in frequent water intrusion and consistently damp basement conditions, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall and seasonal snowmelt. A comprehensive waterproofing solution was needed to provide reliable, long-term protection against groundwater infiltration.
WaterGuard
To install the WaterGuard® interior drainage system, the concrete slab was carefully excavated along the basement's cold joint. Positioned at the footing level, WaterGuard intercepts groundwater seepage from beneath the slab and along the foundation perimeter, directing it efficiently to the sump pump system for discharge. Following installation, the system was flood-tested to verify proper performance, and the concrete slab was restored to its original grade for a clean, finished appearance.
TrenchDrain and Super Sump
Because fixed utilities and obstructions prevented the installation of WaterGuard® in certain areas, TrenchDrain™ was incorporated as a complementary surface drainage solution. Integrated directly with the WaterGuard system, TrenchDrain effectively captures surface water and directs it into the perimeter drainage network, where it is conveyed to the sump pump system for discharge. The SuperSump® system provides dependable, high-capacity pumping performance, while the WaterWatch® Alarm delivers an added layer of protection by alerting the homeowner if water levels in the sump basin rise above normal operating conditions.
IceGuard
Collected groundwater is discharged from the home through a dedicated discharge line, which was routed through the exterior siding for efficient water evacuation. To enhance system reliability, an IceGuard® discharge fitting was installed on the exterior portion of the line. This patented fail-safe component provides an alternative escape route for water in the event that the discharge line becomes obstructed by ice, debris, or other blockages. By preventing water from backing up into the sump system, IceGuard helps protect the basement from potential flooding and ensures continued system performance during adverse conditions.
Bubbler Pot
To ensure effective water dispersal away from the foundation, a LawnScape™ outlet was installed at the termination point of the discharge line. This outlet facilitates the controlled release and absorption of discharged water into the surrounding soil, minimizing surface saturation and preventing standing water or lawn puddling. The discharge line was then carefully buried below grade, restoring the landscape while preserving the lawn's appearance and integrity.
