Wet Basement Floor
The finished basement flooring was removed after water intrusion caused moisture to become trapped beneath the flooring system, resulting in mold growth. Removal was necessary to prevent further microbial contamination and protect the remaining finished areas from potential water and mold-related damage.
Waterguard
The WaterGuard® interior drainage system is designed to effectively manage hydrostatic pressure and groundwater intrusion by capturing water at the basement perimeter before it reaches the finished living area. Collected water is directed to the sump pump system for controlled removal from the structure. Unlike conventional exterior French drains that can become obstructed by soil and sediment over time, WaterGuard is strategically positioned to minimize clogging and maintain consistent drainage performance. Integrated inspection ports provide convenient access for system monitoring and maintenance when needed.
TrenchDrain
TrenchDrain™ is a surface drainage solution designed to capture and manage water intrusion in areas where groundwater enters at floor level. It is particularly effective for intercepting water while navigating around immovable obstructions and utility penetrations that prevent the installation of conventional perimeter drainage systems. TrenchDrain integrates directly with the WaterGuard® system, creating a continuous drainage pathway that efficiently channels collected water to the sump pump system for discharge.
Feed Line
To facilitate effective water management, a drainage feed line was installed to connect the affected wall section to the interior drainage network. The line routes collected groundwater to the basement's lowest elevation, where it is directed into the sump pump system for reliable evacuation. This configuration promotes positive water flow and enhances the overall performance of the basement waterproofing system.
Feed Line Concreted
Upon completion of the feed line installation, the trench was backfilled and restored with concrete to match the existing floor elevation, returning the basement slab to its original condition and providing a durable, finished surface.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe® Sump Pump System incorporates three independent pumps, including a battery-powered backup pump, to provide multiple layers of protection against basement flooding. This redundant design ensures reliable water removal during periods of heavy water inflow and maintains system operation even in the event of a primary pump failure or power outage.
IceGuard
Collected water is discharged from the home through a dedicated discharge line. An IceGuard® fitting was installed on the discharge system to provide an additional layer of protection by allowing water to escape if the exterior discharge line becomes frozen or obstructed. This fail-safe mechanism helps ensure the sump pump system can continue operating effectively under adverse conditions.
