Wet Finished Basement
Water intrusion occurred through the cold joint, resulting in significant damage to the finished basement. Moisture infiltration compromised the trim, drywall, and carpeting, necessitating the repair and replacement of affected finished materials.
Moldy Basement Carpet
Persistent moisture conditions within the finished basement led to mold growth beneath the carpeting, creating an unhealthy indoor environment and rendering the affected area unsuitable for occupancy until proper remediation could be completed.
Drywall Cutting and Removal
To facilitate the installation of the waterproofing system, the affected carpeting and the lower sections of water-damaged drywall were removed. This demolition provided access to the wall-to-floor joint and ensured proper integration of the drainage and waterproofing components.
WaterGuard Concrete Removal
To install the WaterGuard® drainage system, a section of concrete was removed along the interior perimeter of the foundation. This provided access to the wall-to-floor cold joint, allowing the drainage system to be properly positioned to intercept and redirect water seepage before it could enter the finished basement.
WaterGuard
WaterGuard® was installed within a bed of clean crushed stone and carefully pitched toward the sump pump system to ensure efficient water collection and drainage. This configuration allows groundwater intercepted at the foundation perimeter to flow freely to the discharge point, providing reliable, long-term protection against basement water intrusion.
WaterGuard Concreted
Following a successful flood test to verify proper system performance and drainage, the WaterGuard® system was encapsulated in concrete to restore the basement floor. This process preserves the integrity of the floor slab while maintaining a clean, discreet appearance that allows the waterproofing system to remain effective without detracting from the finished space.
FlexiSpan
A FlexiSpan® wall crack repair system was installed to permanently address water intrusion through the foundation crack. The system channels any seepage behind the sealed crack and directs it into the WaterGuard® drainage system, where it is safely collected and conveyed to the sump pump for discharge.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe® Sump Pump System was installed to provide reliable, continuous protection against basement water intrusion. Featuring three levels of pumping capability, the system efficiently collects and discharges groundwater from the WaterGuard® drainage system, helping keep the basement dry even during heavy rainfall or primary pump failure.
IceGuard
The IceGuard® discharge line protection system was installed to ensure the sump pump system can continue operating during freezing conditions. In the event the exterior discharge line becomes obstructed by ice, IceGuard® provides an alternative escape route for water, preventing backups that could otherwise lead to basement flooding.
Bubbler Pot
The LawnScape™ Outlet, commonly referred to as a bubbler pot, was installed at the termination point of the discharge line to allow water collected by the waterproofing system to disperse safely away from the home's foundation. This helps prevent water from recirculating back toward the structure while providing a clean, unobtrusive discharge location.
EverLast Half Wall and Elite Plank Flooring
The EverLast® Half Wall Restoration System and Elite Plank Flooring were installed to restore the finished basement with durable, moisture-resistant materials designed for below-grade environments. Unlike traditional finishing materials, these products resist water damage, mold, and deterioration, helping protect the space against future moisture-related issues.
