Sump Pump
While the existing sump pump system was initially effective at collecting and discharging groundwater, changing water infiltration patterns over time allowed moisture to bypass the protected area and enter other sections of the basement where no drainage system had been installed.
Leaky Foundation Wall Crack
A crack in the foundation wall served as a recurring point of water intrusion, resulting in moisture damage to the adjacent drywall and ultimately necessitating its removal.
FlexiSpan
The foundation wall crack was repaired using the FlexiSpan® crack repair system, an engineered solution designed to channel water seepage away from the crack pathway while maintaining flexibility to withstand normal foundation movement.
CleanSpace
CleanSpace® wall vapor barrier was installed over the FlexiSpan® repair system to provide an additional layer of moisture protection, enhancing the wall's resistance to water vapor transmission and helping maintain a dry basement environment.
WaterGuard
Additional sections of the WaterGuard® perimeter drainage system were integrated with the existing drainage network to provide continuous coverage along the affected wall. This expanded system is designed to intercept groundwater infiltration at the foundation-wall joint and efficiently channel it to the sump pump for discharge before it can enter the basement living space. The FlexiSpan® crack repair system was also connected directly to the WaterGuard® system, creating a comprehensive water management solution that captures any seepage at the crack and directs it into the drainage system for controlled removal.
Sealing Sump Pump
The existing sump pump system was surrounded by exposed aggregate, creating a pathway for moisture and humid air to migrate into the finished basement environment. By replacing the exposed stone with a properly sealed concrete enclosure, an airtight barrier was established around the sump basin. This improvement helps reduce humidity infiltration, enhances overall moisture control, and supports the long-term efficiency and performance of the sump pump system.
