Wet Basement
The ingress through the cold joint resulted in floor staining, elevated humidity levels, and posed a risk to stored items. Ensuring the basement is thoroughly waterproofed is crucial to prevent costly repairs and potential damage in the future.
WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage Set in Place
Concrete around the basement perimeter was excavated to facilitate the installation of WaterGuard. This system, positioned beneath the slab, intercepts water before it infiltrates the basement. The captured water is then directed to the sump pump for efficient removal from the property.
WaterGuard Cemented into Foundation
Following a flood test to verify optimal functionality, the WaterGuard perimeter drainage system is integrated into the basement foundation with cement. This installation results in a streamlined and nearly imperceptible appearance.
TrenchDrain Surface Drainage
TrenchDrain was employed to channel water around the oil tank. This system seamlessly integrates with WaterGuard, forming a unified pathway for water to be directed to the sump pump system. Additionally, TrenchDrain captures any surface water on the basement floor.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe system comprises three pumps: a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-powered backup. These pumps activate sequentially as water from WaterGuard enters the liner, effectively managing high levels of water ingress, even during power outages.
Discharge Line Clog Prevention
Water is expelled from the home via a discharge line. IceGuard is installed on the discharge line as a failsafe, ensuring water can flow freely even if the line becomes obstructed, such as during freezing conditions. LawnScape is positioned at the end of the discharge line to enhance drainage and prevent water from pooling on the lawn. The discharge line is then buried to maintain the home's curb appeal.
