Wet Basement
Observe in the photo how persistent water infiltration into the basement compromised the foundation floor. This issue posed risks such as mold growth, damage to stored items, elevated humidity levels, and a burdensome cleanup process. Implementing a robust waterproofing system was crucial to ensure the basement remained dry and provided peace of mind.
Preparing the Workspace
Our crew commenced the project by installing a plastic barrier to safeguard stored items. We prioritize maintaining a clean and secure workspace, reflecting our commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.
WaterGuard Set in Crushed Stone
Concrete along the basement perimeter was carefully chipped away to facilitate the installation of the WaterGuard system. WaterGuard effectively captures and collects water entering the basement due to hydrostatic pressure, preventing infiltration into the basement space. The collected water is then directed to the sump pump. This system is embedded within crushed stone to ensure optimal drainage.
High Water Table
During the construction of the sump pump basin, it is evident that the high water table surrounding the basement posed a challenge. To maintain a clean and efficient workspace, our crew utilized a temporary pump to continuously remove water throughout the installation process.
WaterGuard Concreted
After the WaterGuard system is flood tested to ensure proper drainage, it is concreted in place.
TrenchDrain Around Utilities
TrenchDrain was employed to effectively reroute water around immovable basement utilities, such as this water heater. This surface drainage system seamlessly integrates with WaterGuard, creating a cohesive pathway for water to be efficiently directed to the sump pump.
TrenchDrain Around Stairs
TrenchDrain was strategically employed to collect and redirect water along the bulkhead stair entrance, ensuring effective surface drainage and preventing water accumulation in this critical area.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe Sump Pump system comprises three pumps, providing unparalleled protection for basement water removal. This system includes a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-operated backup pump. As water enters the sump pump liner, these pumps activate sequentially to ensure efficient water removal. Even during power outages, the battery-operated pump ensures continuous operation, maintaining a dry basement.
IceGuard
Water is expelled from the basement through a discharge line. As the discharge line extends to the exterior of the home, IceGuard is installed as a failsafe mechanism to prevent blockages caused by clogs, including those resulting from freezing temperatures. IceGuard ensures that the discharge line remains unobstructed, preventing potential backups and basement flooding.
Discharge Line
The discharge line extends from the basement to a secure location away from the home, ensuring that water is directed to an area where it poses no risk of re-entering the basement.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot is installed at the terminus of the discharge line, facilitating enhanced drainage into the soil and preventing water from pooling on the lawn's surface. After installation, the discharge line is buried, maintaining the lawn's aesthetic appeal.
SaniDry Sedona XP
The SaniDry Sedona XP is an advanced basement dehumidifier with the capacity to remove up to 109 liters of water per day. This sophisticated dehumidification system ensures the basement remains free of excess moisture, promoting a healthier and safer environment.
