Failing Sump Pump
The former sump pump system in the basement was insufficient in managing the water infiltration, resulting in persistent moisture and humidity. Consequently, the basement became vulnerable to mold growth, wood decay, and damage to stored belongings.
Preparing the Work Site
Our team is committed to upholding a clean and safe work environment. To safeguard stored items in the basement during the installation process, we erected plastic barriers prior to commencing the waterproofing project.
WaterGuard Concrete Removal
To install our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system, we commenced by chipping away the concrete along the basement's perimeter. The presence of a high water table just beneath the basement floor's surface underscores the significant risk of potential leaks and flooding in the basement space.
WaterGuard Installation
The WaterGuard system was installed along the entire perimeter of the basement, effectively intercepting water from the surrounding wet soils before it can infiltrate the basement space. The collected water is then directed to the sump pump for efficient removal.
WaterGuard Concreted in Foundation Floor
Once the WaterGuard system is installed, it undergoes a flood test to verify optimal drainage performance. Subsequently, it is securely anchored into the foundation with concrete.
TrenchDrain Tied into WaterGuard
TrenchDrain, a variant of the WaterGuard system, is engineered to capture surface water. It is employed in areas where WaterGuard installation is impractical, such as bulkhead steps. TrenchDrain integrates seamlessly with the WaterGuard system, creating a unified pathway for water to be directed to the sump pump.
TrenchDrain Surface Drainage
TrenchDrain was also employed to redirect water around immovable utilities.
TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The drainage system channels water to the TripleSafe Sump Pump's liner, where a sequence of three pumps is activated as needed to efficiently remove water from the home, even during periods of high water volume caused by heavy rains or snowmelt. Additionally, the TripleSafe system ensures effective water management during power outages.
IceGuard
IceGuard was installed on the discharge line to ensure water can flow freely even if the line freezes due to cold temperatures. This additional measure further protects the basement from leaks and flooding caused by system backups.
Discharge Line
The discharge line was dug a safe location away from the home to prevent water from returning to the exterior of the foundation. After installation, it is buried, preserving the aesthetics of the lawn.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot was installed at the end of the discharge line to enhance drainage efficiency, preventing water from accumulating on the lawn's surface.
