Flooded Basement
Persistent basement flooding resulted in extensive mold growth on the drywall, foundation floors, and even the ceiling. What was once a livable space had transformed into a health hazard for the entire home.
WaterGuard
WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system installed along the foundation walls. The installation process begins with the removal of drywall, followed by chipping out concrete. WaterGuard is then positioned atop the foundation's footing to intercept water before it can enter the basement, directing it to the sump pump. After flood testing confirms proper water flow, the drainage system is securely embedded in concrete within the foundation.
WaterGuard Tied into Existing Sump Pump
The previously installed sump pump was insufficient in managing water collection and removal due to the high water table. WaterGuard was crucial in capturing all the water. By seamlessly integrating with the existing sump pump, the WaterGuard system significantly enhances overall effectiveness.
TripleSafe Sump Pump and SaniDry XP Dehumidifier
WaterGuard was also integrated with the TripleSafe Sump Pump. This advanced three-pump system includes a robust primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-operated backup pump, ensuring efficient management of high water volumes at all times, even during power outages. Additionally, the SaniDry XP dehumidifier maintains a healthy basement environment by effectively controlling humidity levels, significantly reducing mold growth and creating a comfortable living space.
Discharge Line
Water is expelled from the basement via a discharge line. IceGuard is installed on the discharge line as a failsafe against rare clogs, such as those caused by freezing in winter. This ensures additional peace of mind by protecting the basement from flooding. Additionally, a bubbler pot is installed at the end of the discharge line to prevent surface water pooling on the lawn.
